InterContinental One Thousand Island Lake Resort

We drove from Nanjing on Saturday morning and headed straight to Thousand Island Lake, starting our trip at a local favorite restaurant called Qianwei Fish House. The fish soup and braised fish tail were absolutely beyond expectations—rich, flavorful, and so delicious we couldn’t stop sipping the broth and piling up our plates. In the afternoon, we took a speedboat to two of the islands—while prices on the islands were a bit high, the views were worth every penny, especially the stunning sunset painting the lake in golden hues. We arrived at InterContinental One Thousand Island Lake Resort around 5:30 PM, and driving here was super convenient. Check-in was smooth, and we decided to enjoy the hotel’s buffet dinner—excellent variety, fresh ingredients, and attentive service. Special shoutout to our hostess Ada, known as ‘Little Dragonfly’—her warm and genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome. The resort offered a great lineup of activities: guided nature walks along the lakeside trails, and an evening bonfire gathering that brought guests together with music and stories under the stars. On our last day, we were surprised with a thoughtful little gift pack at check-out—such a sweet touch. Overall, this stay exceeded all our expectations. Perfect for a peaceful getaway, great value, and unforgettable memories.

MINHO INTERNATIONAL RESORT

Staying at Minho International Resort in Qiandao Lake was an absolute delight for our family trip! First off, huge thanks to our dedicated hotel host, Lucy—her warm, patient, and efficient service made the entire experience seamless. From check-in to check-out, she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The resort itself exceeded expectations—every facility, from the spacious rooms to the well-maintained public areas, felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive, which made a big difference with kids in tow. Our little one had so much fun, especially in the indoor kids’ play area—she refused to leave even when it was time to head back to the room! We’d recommend staying at least two nights; one just isn’t enough to fully enjoy all the offerings. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome minibar and fresh fruit—such a nice touch. On checkout, we received a cute souvenir gift, which the child absolutely loved. The location is great—close to restaurants and shops, and ordering food via delivery was super easy, even with the robot delivery service adding a fun tech twist. We were sad we couldn’t try the buffet dinner this time due to our young child’s bedtime schedule, but we’ll definitely make it a priority next visit. The hot spring and relaxation zone were fantastic, and the tea and snack station there was a real highlight. In summer, they open up an outdoor water play area—perfect for letting kids burn off energy—and that’s definitely on our list for next time. Even though winter meant missing out on the pool, the indoor facilities were more than enough. Breakfast was impressive—huge variety, beautifully presented, and delicious. Overall, this was an ideal family-friendly getaway with excellent value. Highly recommended for parents looking for a stress-free, fun-filled vacation with their kids.

Karen·Qiandao Lake Hotel (Yacht Sailing Island Manor)

It’s been 20 years since my last visit to Qiandao Lake, and this time I brought my parents for a relaxed three-day getaway—no rush, no tourist traps, just pure relaxation. Instead of following the usual online itineraries to the central or southeast lakes, we chose Karen·Qiandao Lake Hotel, tucked away in the quiet eastern new town on a peninsula with stunning seclusion. The location is perfect—peaceful, scenic, and just steps from some hidden gems. On day one, we wandered over to the trendy Beer Town, a 10-minute walk along the greenway—super easy and charming. Day two took us to the Qiandao Lake Botanical Garden, Tianyu Mountain, and the Chun’an County Museum—all within a short taxi ride. The hotel itself is an experience: several private islands scattered around the property, each one worth exploring. We made it a daily ritual to stroll through them after breakfast—about 1.5 hours of peaceful walking, photography, and soaking in the views. Our suite had two bathrooms, top-tier amenities including a bidet, luxury Italian toiletries, Dyson hairdryers, a sterilization cabinet, coffee machine, and even a complimentary electric toothbrush. Dining at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant was a highlight—yes, prices are slightly higher than local spots, but honestly, it’s worth every penny. The lake-fresh fish and seafood were cooked to perfection, clearly showcasing the chef’s skill. But what truly stood out was the service—every staff member, from check-in to checkout, was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. They even brought us a special homemade chenpi red bean paste in the afternoon, and when we left, they gifted us fresh vegetables picked that very morning. It felt less like a stay and more like being welcomed into a home. This is not just a hotel—it’s a memory-maker. I’ll definitely be back.

Qiandaohu Fanli Resort Hotel

Staying at Qiandaohu Fanli Resort Hotel was an absolute highlight of my trip. Nestled with views on three sides of the serene lake, the moment you step out of your room, you're greeted by breathtaking scenery—peaceful, fresh, and utterly relaxing. The outdoor hot spring pool is open from 4 PM to 9 PM, and soaking in it while watching the sunset over the water is pure bliss. The evening light reflecting on the lake creates a magical atmosphere. While the outdoor swimming pool isn’t heated (so not ideal in winter), I can imagine it being perfect during summer months. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with incredibly comfortable bedding—great for a restful night’s sleep. Cleanliness is top-notch; every corner feels well-maintained and freshly cleaned. The staff, especially the concierge, were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. What really stood out was the variety of on-site activities. The New Year’s Eve fireworks display was spectacular—worth staying up late just for that! We also enjoyed making our own sachets in the lobby using fragrant lemongrass—natural, calming, and fun for all ages. Outside, there are adorable animals: squirrels, sheep, and peacocks wandering around the grounds—my kids loved them. There's even a sandpit and a small playground for little ones. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, so driving is definitely the best option, but parking is completely free—a big plus. Overall, this place offers excellent value, great ambiance, and unforgettable memories. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with nature, charm, and thoughtful touches, this is the spot.

Qiandao Lake Deefly Lake View Holiday Hotel

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight—peaceful, comfortable, and truly rejuvenating. The rooms are just steps away from the lake, so you can wake up to the soothing sound of waves gently lapping against the shore, feeling the rhythm of nature right outside your window. Bird songs, rustling leaves in the breeze, and crisp, fresh air filled with natural ions made every moment feel refreshing and alive. I was even surprised by a free-roaming peacock strolling by—such a unique and charming touch! The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From the serene lakeside setting to the thoughtful details, everything felt perfect. If you're looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature, this is the place to be. A 10/10 experience that exceeded all expectations.

Hangzhou Shusheng Longjing Hotel

I always visit Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou around the end of the year, and I’ve been staying at Shusheng Longjing Hotel for years—it’s become my go-to choice. The location is perfect: just a 10-minute bike ride to West Lake and only 8–10 minutes to Lingyin Temple, making it super convenient for exploring the area on two wheels. The surrounding trails and quiet streets make cycling or walking the best way to get around. The staff went above and beyond—before check-in, they reached out to help with transport tips and followed up afterward to see how we were enjoying our stay. Having a 24/7 concierge was a huge plus. And the breakfast? Fantastic. Since the hotel runs its own Chinese restaurant, the food is fresh, flavorful, and authentic. It’s not just a place to sleep—it feels like a home base for a peaceful, well-organized trip. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality.

HangZhou West Lake Movietel

I absolutely loved my stay at Hangzhou West Lake Movietel! From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding—especially from Xiao Wang at reception, who was incredibly friendly and professional. He even upgraded me to a better room at no extra cost, which was such a pleasant surprise. The room itself was spotless, beautifully designed with a creative touch, and every amenity worked perfectly. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The hotel is quiet and serene, tucked away in a peaceful area yet still close enough to explore the nearby attractions like West Lake via public transit. It’s an ideal choice for both business trips and leisure stays. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and colleagues.

XIANGHU XIAOYAO MANOR

This estate is absolutely massive—beyond the main building, it spreads across an entire hillside with a beautifully arranged cluster of villas (Xiangyuan) nestled among the trees. Just strolling in the sunshine felt like a mini escape from reality. The staff were proactive even before check-in, reaching out to ask about our preferences, and continued checking in throughout our stay—very attentive without being intrusive. From front desk to concierge, everyone responded quickly and warmly. We tried the yakitori dinner at Yiba and breakfast, both of which were delicious and well-prepared. Despite the surprisingly long corridors in the guest rooms—some of us joked we’d need a map to find our way back—the overall experience was outstanding. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a peaceful retreat that made our weekend truly memorable.

Blue City. Anyi Resort Qiandao Lake County

We came with three families and had an amazing time despite the rainy first day. The kids stayed entertained all day within the resort—craft activities and the playground kept them busy and happy. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the complimentary fish head soup was delicious—rich and flavorful. We stayed for two nights, and by day two and three, the sun finally came out. We spent our mornings relaxing on the open-air terrace, soaking up the sunshine while enjoying snacks and taking in the stunning lake views. The kids were thrilled, and we adults felt completely recharged. It’s rare to find a place where both kids and grown-ups are equally happy—this resort truly delivers. A perfect getaway with incredible value and unforgettable memories.

Staying at Hangzhou Xixi Park SAWA Boutique Hotel was an absolute delight. Located right on Xixi Road, the hotel is incredibly convenient—just an 8-minute drive from Lingyin Temple and Huanglong Commercial Area. The rooms are wonderfully quiet, with excellent soundproofing that makes it easy to relax and sleep peacefully. The bedding is incredibly comfortable, and the room layout feels thoughtful and spacious. I especially loved the large, bright bathroom with modern amenities and the beautiful wooden flooring that adds warmth and character to the space. Breakfast was a highlight—diverse and fresh, offering both Western and Chinese options, all prepared right in front of you. It’s rare to find such quality and variety in a boutique hotel. Zhejiang Xizi Hotel · Wangzhuang · West Lake Famous Garden

I’ve long admired Wangzhuang, the iconic lakeside retreat near West Lake in Hangzhou, and finally had the chance to stay here during a Black Friday deal that felt like a steal. The moment I stepped in, I could tell this was something special—excellent service, top-notch dining, and an atmosphere that truly feels luxurious. The property is vast, with beautifully maintained lawns and trees. Since we visited right at peak season for maple and ginkgo foliage, the grounds were gently dusted with golden leaves, creating a magical, almost cinematic setting. Paths are clean and well-kept, making it easy to wander around for hours just taking photos and soaking in the scenery. We booked the daily 10 AM 'Wangzhuang Cruise' tour, which circles West Lake in about an hour. The boat itself is spotless, with comfortable upholstered seats, air-conditioned enclosed cabins, and panoramic glass windows that offer stunning views of both sides of the lake. I especially loved standing at the back deck to capture sweeping shots of the water and gardens—absolutely breathtaking. The highlight of the stay was the complimentary photography package. While one of the staff members from Hainan came across as rather abrupt and inflexible, the photographer, Mr. Song, and the makeup artist were incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Their work brought out the best in our photos, and the final results were truly memorable. Overall, despite a minor hiccup, the experience exceeded expectations—this place deserves every bit of its reputation.

Hangzhou Hua Jia Shan Resort

We were incredibly lucky during the New Year holiday when the hotel upgraded our room at no extra cost—what a wonderful surprise! The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, even though the balcony felt a bit chilly. However, the view and overall atmosphere made it well worth it. The resort’s architecture is truly unique—each balcony feels like it’s nestled in a loft with a striking sloped design. Surrounded by serene mountain scenery, the property beautifully blends traditional elements: pavilions, bridges, and flowing waterways create a peaceful, almost dreamlike setting. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner on-site, and every meal was satisfying and delicious. It’s rare to find such charm, tranquility, and excellent service all in one place. A perfect getaway that exceeded all expectations.
