For sunny days, the most straightforward route is exiting JR’s North Gate, turning right, walking straight past the crosswalk, and spotting the hotel sign immediately. There are two nearby supermarkets for snacks and drinks—very handy. While bottled water isn’t provided, there are two daily time slots where you can use your room key to access free coffee and hot tea on the second floor. It’s a small touch, but appreciated. Overall, the location, comfort, and thoughtful details make this hotel a top choice. I’d definitely stay here again.

No worries though—just head up to the 3rd floor of the Aeon Mall and check out Daiso; you can pick up quality kitchen knives and scissors for under ¥100. Super affordable and practical. Overall, this place offers comfort, convenience, and great value—definitely my top choice for future trips to Sapporo!

Staying at Ten to Ten Hostel in Sapporo was an absolute steal—affordable, clean, and surprisingly well-equipped for a youth hostel. Check-in was a bit unique: after 4 PM, staff used their computer to register guest info, then you’d call via Skype on another machine to confirm arrival—simple and efficient. One highlight? Free drinks and snacks every evening before 10 PM. Just be sure to ask the front desk—they won’t offer it unless prompted. Female guests get a full set of amenities: slippers, toothbrush, comb, razor, plus shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Location-wise, it’s not dead-centre but definitely walkable—expect a 5-minute stroll to most spots. The best tip? In winter, always use the covered passage! From Sapporo Station West Exit (currently under renovation, near the Foreigner’s Center), head toward the bookstore, then follow the path beside FamilyMart. Go through the covered alley, cross the street under the railway tracks, and look for the parking lot turn—Ten to Ten is just beside the second building of Ohashi Academy. Trust me, my photos make the route crystal clear!

Everything you’d need: hair curler, blow dryer, makeup remover, toner, moisturizer—no need to pack anything extra. Towels, toothbrush, comb—all stored neatly in a shoulder bag inside the room. Common areas are fantastic too: free tea, coffee, and miso soup, plus a good selection of manga books to read. A small oven, water heater, microwave, cutlery, and even a mini kitchen with a medium-sized fridge—perfect for self-catering. When checking out, I got a little surprise gift—a lucky 5-yen coin (go-enge)—so sweet and memorable. I’ll definitely book here again next time I’m in Sapporo for exams. No second thoughts.
