Yes, it takes a short walk to the nearest subway station, but considering how much value you get—comfortable rooms, relaxing onsen, great food, and excellent location—it’s totally worth it. The yakitori skewers aren’t worth it—overpriced and just okay in flavor. But honestly, when you factor in everything else, the value for money here is outstanding. This was my first stay at Citadines Namba Osaka, and I was genuinely impressed. The hotel is housed in the former Takashimaya department store, blending classic Japanese architecture with modern, well-maintained interiors. The building has a charming old-world feel from the outside, but inside, everything feels fresh and spotless. I booked a family room, and it came fully equipped with a fridge, washing machine, stove, and kitchenware—perfect for self-catering, especially when traveling with kids. Location-wise, it's unbeatable: just an 8-minute walk from Namba Station, and Black Gate Market is literally around the corner. Everything you need—from local street food to shopping—is within easy reach. The staff were warm and welcoming, with excellent English skills, making the whole experience feel personal and comfortable. One small note: the kids' playroom is quite compact—about 20 sqm—so it can only comfortably fit three or four young children at a time. It would be great if it could be expanded. Also, breakfast options are fairly basic, nothing special. Still, considering the convenience, cleanliness, and overall value, this hotel stands out. If I’m back in Osaka, this will definitely be my top choice again.
