I stayed at Comfort Hotel in Matsuyama, Shikoku back in August, and was truly impressed by the clean rooms and delicious breakfast. When I visited Nara this time, I naturally chose another Comfort Hotel location—no regrets! The hotel is just a 3-4 minute walk from JR Nara Station, making it super convenient for day trips to Kyoto. From Kansai Airport, take the Haruka express to Tennoji, then transfer to the JR Kansai Main Line (Yamatoji Rapid), and you’ll be in Nara in no time. There are plenty of buses right outside the station heading to Nara Park, as well as direct routes to Horyu-ji Temple and Todai-ji Temple. On the ground floor of the station, you’ll find a large AEON supermarket and several restaurants—perfect for grabbing snacks or meals. And right across from the hotel is a Sushi Sengyo (Sekaiya) branch, so dinner worries are minimal even late at night. Everything’s within reach, the staff are friendly, and the room was spotless. It’s rare to find such a great balance of comfort, convenience, and value—definitely my top pick for future visits to Nara.
