The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the old foreign settlement metro station, JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin lines, with bustling Motomachi shopping street right downstairs and Daimaru department store across the street. It’s perfect for dining, shopping, and strolling around, especially on weekends when the area buzzes with energy. Inside, the hotel offers all the essentials with a modern, clean feel. I loved that the front desk provides complimentary skincare items like toner and moisturizer—such a thoughtful touch! Plus, the eco-friendly cleaning policy lets you request housekeeping only when needed, which is ideal for travelers who value privacy and quiet time. No intrusive daily visits, just peace and comfort. A truly well-designed stay for those who want convenience without sacrificing personal space.
Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel
I originally booked a three-night stay, but unfortunately my elderly family member wasn’t feeling well upon arrival. To be safe, we had to cancel and rebook our flight for the next morning. I was really worried about the cancellation policy, especially since it was past the deadline. But the hotel was incredibly understanding and helped me cancel the remaining two nights without any penalty—truly appreciated. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Sannomiya Station. However, due to ongoing road construction, the route isn’t straightforward. From the JR Sannomiya East Exit, head right and look for the local tourist information center—ask there for directions to the hotel. Walk a bit further, cross a small street, and you’ll see a fenced-off area with a 7-Eleven nearby, plus a nearby AEON supermarket. It’s easy to spot once you know where to look. I stayed in a smoking triple room, but surprisingly, there was no strong odor—totally acceptable. The room itself has a good-sized bathroom with clear dry/wet separation, and the space felt generous for three people. Although this trip didn’t go as planned, the hotel’s kindness and helpfulness made a lasting impression. I’ll definitely come back when I get another chance to visit Kobe.
