Hotel the Mitsui Kyoto, a Luxury Collection Hotel & Spa

Staying at Hotel the Mitsui Kyoto was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, the service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and seamless. The room was incredibly comfortable, with a plush bed that made it easy to unwind after a busy week in Shanghai. I’m already looking forward to returning in autumn when the maple trees turn vibrant red. The location is perfect for exploring Kyoto, with easy access to public transit. What truly stood out was how quickly and efficiently the platform and hotel responded to my inquiries—every question was answered within half an hour, making the entire experience stress-free. It’s reassuring to know you can rely on such prompt support while traveling abroad. This stay exceeded all expectations, and I’d definitely book again without hesitation.

Gion Shirakawa No Yado

Staying at Gion Shirakawa No Yado was a delightful experience. While it’s not right next to the subway station, it’s just a short walk away—totally manageable and worth it. The room was spotlessly clean, with modern amenities that made our stay comfortable and relaxing. What truly stood out was the location: the hotel sits directly beside the serene Shirakawa River. In the morning, we enjoyed a peaceful stroll along the water before heading to places like Nishiki Market, Gion, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple—all within easy walking distance. The traditional atmosphere, combined with thoughtful touches and excellent service, made this stay feel authentic and memorable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to immerse in Kyoto’s charm without the hassle.

Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium

Staying at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium was an excellent experience overall. The location is fantastic—right next to a bus stop, making it super convenient to get around the city. While it's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station after arriving by Shinkansen, the route is pleasant and well-lit. Nearby, you'll find convenience stores like 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and LiFei Market—perfect for grabbing snacks or essentials. Plus, Nishiki Market is just a short stroll away, offering amazing food options and local flavors. I booked a room without breakfast, but there’s a breakfast area on-site that looks clean and inviting. If purchased separately, breakfast costs around 100 RMB, which feels reasonable given the quality. Japanese hotels are known for their cleanliness, and this one definitely lives up to the standard—spotless rooms, fresh linens, and a tidy bathroom. Everything felt thoughtfully maintained. For travelers who value convenience, hygiene, and a central location, this hotel delivers top-notch service and comfort. Highly recommended!

HOTEL SUI KYOTO KIYOMIZU

Stayed from December 14 to 16, 2025 — absolutely loved every moment! The hotel’s exterior is beautifully designed with a modern yet traditional Japanese touch, and the lobby space feels serene and thoughtfully crafted. Upon arrival, we dropped off our luggage and were warmly greeted by staff who made us feel right at home. The room was compact but well-organized and spotlessly clean — just the right size for a comfortable stay. I’m not a fan of soft beds, but the mattress and pillows were perfectly balanced in firmness, so I slept like a baby. What really stood out were the little extras: free matcha experience during designated hours, beer time, and even udon hour — such a charming way to unwind. We booked the complimentary airport transfer in advance and were picked up directly at Kyoto Station, saving us some money and hassle. The driver was friendly and professional throughout. On checkout day, there was a unique farewell ritual involving stone tapping — something symbolic for blessings on our journey. It felt meaningful and heartfelt, though I didn’t catch the exact name. There’s also a 24-hour convenience store right next door, plus another nearby, making late-night snacks or essentials super easy. Overall, this hotel offers exceptional value, attentive service, and that rare blend of comfort and cultural authenticity. If I ever come back to Kyoto, this will be my first choice.

Hotel Honnoji

Staying at Hotel Honnoji was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Sanjo, right in the heart of Kyoto’s vibrant city center. The hotel itself feels brand new and impeccably clean, with a lovely public bath that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I especially loved the traditional Japanese-style rooms—spacious, serene, and full of character. The room size was generous, making it feel more like a home than just a place to sleep. And the price? Incredible value for money. This place exceeded all my expectations. I already know I’ll be back.

The location couldn’t be better—it’s directly across from Kyoto Station, just a 3-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for travelers arriving by train or planning to explore the city. The staff were exceptionally courteous and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We checked in early and left our luggage with them—when we returned in the evening, our bags had already been delivered to our room! That small gesture made a huge difference. The room itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed; even with three of us, having four beds didn’t feel cramped at all. There was plenty of room to move around, store belongings, and relax comfortably. Cleanliness, comfort, and excellent service all contributed to a memorable stay. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto—perfect blend of convenience, quality, and value.

I loved how the lobby offered complimentary drinks, and the chance to make my own matcha was a fun little touch. Conveniently located near a bus stop, getting around the city was super easy. My room was more spacious than expected for the price, with a unique curtain design that added character. It’s quiet yet close to everything, making it perfect for travelers who want comfort without sacrificing location. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting Kyoto.

Gion Misen Furumonzen

Staying at Gion Misen Furumonzen was an absolute delight. Though it's housed in a renovated old building, the elevator makes access effortless—especially helpful with luggage or for older guests. The bathroom is beautifully designed with a three-part separation layout, offering excellent privacy and cleanliness. Coming back each day to soak in a hot bath was such a relaxing ritual after exploring Kyoto. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, perfect for unwinding, and right across the street is a convenience store for quick essentials. It’s also just a short walk to the subway station and the Kamo River—perfect for spontaneous outings. What really stood out were the staff: all the front desk team members are blonde women, clearly well-versed in serving international travelers. Their warm, attentive service made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The combination of traditional charm, modern comfort, and thoughtful touches elevates this place beyond expectations. Truly a hidden gem in Gion with exceptional value.

Staying at Henn na Hotel Premier In front of Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit during the autumn foliage season was a fantastic choice. The location is unbeatable—right next to the station exit, making it super easy to get around Kyoto by train or bus. I loved how convenient it was to walk to Don Quijote for snacks and essentials, plus there were so many dining options just steps away. Despite being budget-friendly, the hotel felt clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff. The price during peak season was totally reasonable, and the value-for-money experience made it a top pick. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

Agora Kyoto Karasuma

Arriving at Kyoto Station, it’s just a 10-minute walk (about 950 meters) to the hotel—super convenient with clear signage along the way. The hotel is right next to a FamilyMart, so grabbing snacks or essentials is super easy. Check-in was smooth at 3 PM, and while breakfast isn’t included in my room rate, there are plenty of great breakfast spots nearby—no need to worry. My room was a comfortable 25 sqm, featuring a traditional tatami layout that gave it a cozy, authentic feel. I especially loved having a small bathtub to soak in after a long day exploring. Daily complimentary bottled water, a capsule coffee machine for a quick brew, and a thoughtful gift of Pola sample skincare products (great for face or body!) made the stay even more special. The front desk staff were efficient and friendly, and check-out was hassle-free—no room inspection needed. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: short walks or quick subway rides to popular spots like Gion, Kiyomizu-dera, and Nijo Castle.
