Overall, the service, comfort, and value for money are outstanding. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Urumqi and highly recommend it to fellow travelers.

Although check-in was busy and the lobby was full of guests, the front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—they asked us to take a seat while they attended to others. When it was our turn, the agent was calm, patient, and explained every detail clearly with genuine care. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with everything I needed. Around midday, just before check-out, a staff member passed by and kindly asked if I needed a tote bag to carry my belongings—such a thoughtful touch! Even though the rate was slightly higher than other options I’d seen, the service quality made it totally worth it. They even gave me some great local food recommendations, and my friends and I went out for dinner that night—delicious and authentic. I especially want to highlight the amazing service from Kelmis at the front desk—her professionalism and kindness made the whole experience special. If you’re visiting Ürümqi, don’t miss this gem!

The location is incredibly easy to find—right across from the north gate of Xinjiang Normal University. Since it's an academic exchange center, most guests are teachers, so when I checked in, the front desk staff immediately greeted me as "Teacher"—it felt warm and personal. The room was well-arranged, comfortable, and offered excellent value for money, making it a perfect choice for business travelers. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, ideal for a good night’s sleep after a long day. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and getting to downtown Urumqi by metro is quick and convenient. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations—10 out of 10 without hesitation.

The room was spacious and matched the photos exactly—great layout and comfortable for my stay. Cleanliness was mostly good, though there were a few hairs on the carpet (which I cleaned up myself). Staff were excellent—friendly, professional, and responsive whether it was day or night shift. They addressed any concerns quickly and with a smile. The location is convenient for city exploration, close to public transit and key areas. While the surrounding environment isn’t outstanding, it’s quiet enough and well-connected. For the price, this place offers great value. I’d definitely consider booking again if I return to Urumqi.
C'est La Vie Youth Hostel
I stayed at C'est La Vie Youth Hostel during the Urumqi Marathon in August 2025, booking a single room for four nights from the 27th to the 30th. The dorm rooms are set up with 3–4 single bunk beds per room—perfect for solo travelers like me. Male and female guests are separated into different rooms, and shared bathrooms are also gender-divided, which I appreciated for privacy. The bedding was clean and changed daily—very hygienic. There’s also a cozy common area ideal for relaxing or meeting other travelers. The staff noticed I’m an older guest and kindly assigned me a lower bunk, plus helped me connect to Wi-Fi on my phone—small gestures, but really thoughtful. The price is super affordable, and it clearly draws a lot of visitors—by the 30th night, the place was completely booked. On the 31st, I returned late in the afternoon and needed time to freshen up; the team didn’t mind at all, showing great flexibility. Overall, this hostel exceeded my expectations—great value, friendly staff, and a welcoming vibe. If I ever come back to Urumqi, I’ll definitely stay here again.
