As one of the city’s historic business hotels—originally opening in 1984 as China’s first Holiday Inn—the property carries a legacy that’s both respected and evident in its charm. While it's not right in the heart of downtown, it’s incredibly convenient for key areas like Wangjing Business District, Taikoo Place, Parkview Green, Yishan Commercial Zone, the embassy area, and even Beijing Capital International Airport. The location makes it ideal for both business travelers and tourists. Even though it’s part of the Metropark brand, guests can still earn IHG Rewards points and enjoy member benefits—a nice perk many might not expect. The hotel has a bit of vintage character in its design, but it’s far from outdated; rooms are spacious and well-maintained, with Balmain amenities that add a touch of luxury. The scent of the toiletries is subtle yet refreshing. Most impressively, every staff member I encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful—going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s an experience worth repeating.

The room is spacious and comfortable, with a well-balanced mattress—firm enough for support but soft enough to feel cozy. Linens are crisp, clean, and smooth to the touch, while towels are fresh, plush, and branded with the hotel’s logo—such a nice detail. Breakfast is thoughtfully varied; the chef at the buffet line actually prepares different dishes each day instead of repeating the same menu, which keeps it interesting. While not fancy, the food is always satisfying, flavorful, and abundant—never left me hungry. On the ground floor, there’s a small convenience store, coin-operated laundry machines (they provide detergent pods and even loan drying racks), and vending machines offering everything from socks to power banks at great prices.
