As a hostel, it’s naturally mixed dorm-style, but compared to other hostels I’ve stayed at, cleanliness stands out: each bed has its own set of linens that you can change yourself, which feels much more hygienic and personal. There are plenty of shared bathrooms and showers, though mornings can get busy—still, everything is spotless and well-maintained. The kitchen is spacious, clean, and fully equipped with all the essentials, including instant hot water—a real plus for making coffee or instant meals. Just a heads-up: I left a banana on the counter and it was gone—so maybe keep your snacks secure! The front desk staff member was friendly, welcoming, and definitely one of the best-looking guys I’ve seen at a hostel. One small note: the entrance is tucked away behind a garden facing the street, so it’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention—but the platform sent me a follow-up email with clear directions, which helped a lot. Overall, this place delivers great value, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommend for solo travelers or budget-conscious explorers looking to be right in the middle of the action.

While most hotels in the U.S. don’t provide slippers—so I regretted not bringing my own—the real highlight here is having a washer and dryer right in the room. The location is excellent—just about 200 meters from the Walk of Fame, making it super easy to explore nearby attractions on foot or by public transit. However, I should mention that the area isn’t very safe at night, so we kept both front and back doors locked throughout our stay. It’s not ideal for late-night strolls, but the convenience and central spot make up for it. If you value practicality, good access, and a comfortable base in Hollywood, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Parking is manageable, and taxis are readily available. It’s also very close to Universal Studios, which is a huge plus for those planning to visit. Just note that housekeeping needs to be requested in advance. The Indian cleaning staff member is incredibly kind and thorough—the room was spacious, spotless, and well-maintained. There’s a 7-Eleven right downstairs, perfect for grabbing snacks, drinks, or groceries. I brought a small pot to make tea and coffee, which made self-catering easy and fun. One thing to mention: there’s a small group of homeless individuals who often stay near the entrance. I try to leave some food each night, and if you’re staying here, please be respectful and understanding—they’re part of the neighborhood too. A little kindness goes a long way.

This is our third visit to this hotel in the past 16 years, and it’s been fascinating to witness the evolution of both the property and the surrounding neighborhood. While complimentary breakfast was once offered, it’s no longer available post-pandemic—now only coffee is provided, though I prefer tea so it doesn’t affect me. The two rooms we booked for two nights were charming and cozy, with a warm, homey feel throughout the complex. The entire property is well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. Parking is excellent—spacious and convenient, which is always a plus when traveling by car. The hotel manager, accompanied by her tiny adorable dog, and all the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and polite. Their genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome. One small note: my deposit refund hasn’t been processed yet, but I’ll follow up with the bank upon returning to the UK if it’s still outstanding. Despite that, the overall experience remains outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Los Angeles.
