Among three high-end hotels in New York with similar price points and well-known reputations, the other two fell far short of their five-star billing—definitely a disappointment. But The Peninsula New York? Absolutely worth every penny. The room was spacious, beautifully designed with timeless elegance and artistic touches throughout. Modern smart amenities made everything seamless, and the service—from front desk to in-room staff—was consistently attentive, professional, and warm. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated. That said, the real issue was the air conditioning malfunctioning during our visit—our room climbed to a sweltering 88°F, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We had to keep the windows open, which brought in a lot of city noise. The manager heard about our discomfort and responded with a thoughtful discount on our room rate—a gesture that really made up for the inconvenience. Despite the minor setbacks, the overall experience was outstanding. The location is unbeatable—steps away from shopping, dining, and public transit.
