Staying at The Scholar was an absolute delight! The hotel is just a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, with bus stops only five stops away—just a quick 8-pound Uber ride if you're in a rush. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and it feels like part of the University of Edinburgh’s exchange center. The property consists of several three- to four-story buildings, and my room was in a charming older wing—comfortable, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The cleanliness stood out immediately—everything was spotless, and the bathroom felt more like a boutique hotel than a standard accommodation. The shower setup was impressive, with strong water pressure and high-quality fixtures that reminded me of top-tier international hotels. There’s also a coffee machine in the room—perfect for a cozy morning brew. But what truly blew me away was breakfast: a full à la carte experience. I got to choose between classic Scottish haggis, vegetarian haggis, and other delicious options. The flavors were authentic and well-prepared—so good I almost wanted to extend my stay just to try everything again. It’s rare to find such thoughtful details in a city hotel, and this place delivers on comfort, convenience, and culinary quality. Highly recommended for travelers who value authenticity and a little extra luxury.

Staying at Bruntsfield Hotel was hands down the best hotel experience I've had in Edinburgh. The room was spacious and wonderfully warm, with a cozy heater and a luxurious bathtub—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like a small bottle of whisky and chocolates left in the room. Breakfast was excellent, and I loved that they offered hot options. The location is ideal—just a short walk or quick transit ride to all major attractions. Yes, the windows are a bit small, but the view from them is absolutely stunning. Overall, this place offers incredible value for money, with elegant surroundings and exceptional service. I’d definitely stay here again.

Staying in a university dorm as a tourist was such a unique experience—really brought back memories of my own student days. The check-in staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through all the amenities like self-service laundry, breakfast options, convenience shop, bar, and lounges. The room itself was spacious—actually larger than many hotels I’ve stayed at. The ensuite bathroom and shower were compact but perfectly functional, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Having a working elevator made things so much easier, especially with our heavy luggage. Even though the room faces an open courtyard where students gather, there was absolutely no noise disturbance—it never got loud late into the night. There are several lounges, a small pantry, and even a games room, which added to the lively campus vibe. Breakfast was outstanding—the dining hall was huge, well-organized, and full of freshly cooked food: eggs, sausages, haggis, cereals, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a wide variety of breads. The energy in the space was electric—full of youthful buzz, just like any real university campus. Located right at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the surroundings are stunning. Plus, getting to the city center is super easy—buses run frequently, and it’s actually not far to walk if you’re up for a scenic stroll. A truly memorable stay with great value and a fantastic atmosphere.

I stayed at Edinburgh Regency Guest House during a really tough time, and I can't recommend it for anyone. The staff were polite enough, but the owner clearly doesn’t care about guests’ wellbeing. The rooms are extremely run-down — peeling paint, worn-out furniture, and poor maintenance everywhere. I found signs of rodents and even had worms come out of the shower tray, which was deeply unsettling. I was told it wasn’t harmful to my kids, but how can you trust that when the place is so neglected? There were also uninvited individuals staying there, and my children witnessed and overheard disturbing things — completely unacceptable for a family-friendly space. The owner claims he’d never live in these conditions with his own family, but if that’s true, why allow such a place to operate this way? It’s clear money is the only priority here. This isn’t just a bad stay — it’s unsafe, unsanitary, and utterly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially not with children.

Staying at Badjao B&B in Edinburgh was a truly enjoyable experience overall. The host is such a kind and welcoming person—she prepares breakfast every morning (just fill out the form in your room!), and she’s full of helpful tips on local transport, must-see spots, and hidden gems around the city. My room was compact but perfectly functional, and I was impressed by how spotless the bathroom and entire flat were—cleanliness really stood out. Public transport is excellent here; multiple bus lines stop just steps away, making it easy to get around town. The location is on a main street, which isn’t the most scenic part of the city, but there’s a Lidl supermarket right around the corner—a real lifesaver for essentials. The only drawbacks are the building’s age: street noise can be noticeable at night, so earplugs are recommended, and some doors rattle when closed. The mattress also had a visible dent from years of use, causing me to roll into it each night, which slightly affected comfort. Despite that, the warm hospitality, cleanliness, and great location make this a highly recommendable stay. I’d definitely come back and wouldn’t hesitate to suggest it to others.

Jimmy and Fiona were absolutely wonderful hosts—warm, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was exceptional—fresh, delicious, and full of local touches that made it feel special. We were just a short bus ride from the city center, making exploring Edinburgh effortless. Their hospitality made the entire stay feel like coming home. I’d book again in a heartbeat—highly recommend this gem!

Staying at Salisbury Court was an absolute delight, especially with my mom and 9-year-old kid. From the warm welcome to the super helpful checkout process, every interaction was friendly and efficient. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room spotless, and having access to a kitchen and shared lounge made our stay so much more enjoyable—especially getting to chat with a grandmother and her daughter from the Netherlands! Despite being quite full, it stayed peaceful and quiet throughout our visit. The location was perfect—we were close to Arthur’s Seat, could easily hail a cab to and from the train station, and even enjoyed a nice walk into the city center. It’s rare to find such a well-located, clean, and welcoming place with great amenities and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend for families or travelers looking for comfort and convenience in Edinburgh.

We stayed at this five-bedroom, five-bathroom house for three nights and found it great for our large group. Since we were out most of the day, the unreliable Wi-Fi wasn’t a major issue—but when we were actually at home, the connection was frustratingly weak or completely dropped. The bathrooms were inconsistent too: some rooms had spacious ones, but the top-floor bedroom shared a tiny bathroom with barely any room to place toiletries—everything had to go on the floor. Also, the TVs were only portable-sized, which felt underwhelming for the price point. For a property like this, decent-sized TVs and reliable internet should be standard. Overall, the house was functional and spacious enough for a family or group, but the lack of proper amenities made the experience feel a bit disappointing given the cost.

Absolutely loved our stay at Dalry Guesthouse! The location is fantastic—just steps away from the subway and right next to a Lidl, which made grabbing essentials super convenient. The room was clean, well-sized, and cozy with everything we needed. Breakfast was a real highlight—fresh, hearty, and full of local flavor. The staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality, always ready to help or offer tips. The neighborhood itself has a vibrant, multicultural vibe, with diverse cafes and shops around every corner. It’s such a welcoming, authentic part of Edinburgh. For a budget-friendly yet high-quality experience, this place truly delivers. Highly recommend for travelers who want comfort, convenience, and a genuine local feel.

The hostess was incredibly welcoming, and the room was spotlessly clean—every corner felt fresh and well-maintained. The bathroom was equally tidy, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. Located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the city center, it offers the perfect balance between peace and convenience. What stood out most was the personalized recommendations—she shared great spots nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which made exploring the area so much easier. It's clear she genuinely cares about her guests' experience. This stay was nothing short of excellent, and I’d happily return. Highly recommend!

The moment I walked into the hotel, it felt like coming home—warm, cozy, and spotless. The room had everything I needed: a coffee corner, plenty of towels, a hairdryer, and even a small sink. The shared bathroom was always clean and easily accessible. Everything I needed was within reach, and the location is perfect—everything you’d want is nearby, with the city center just a short walk away. It’s hard to find a better place to stay in Edinburgh. Highly recommend this gem!

Staying at Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll was an absolute highlight of my trip to Edinburgh! The location is perfect—just a short metro ride into the city center, and everything I needed was within walking distance. The room was spotless, spacious, and super comfortable with a great bed that made for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, with all essentials provided. Breakfast was fantastic—freshly cooked eggs, local sausages, warm pastries, and strong coffee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in and check-out process seamless. What stood out most was how quiet the hotel was—no noise from the street or neighboring rooms, which made it easy to relax. It’s a great value for the quality, and I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh!
