Everything you need to know about Ancient Olympic Stadium
This UNESCO-listed venue hosted stadion races (180m sprint) and discus throwing. The stone starting blocks with toe grooves and the discus circle markings are remarkably preserved, reflecting Panhellenic Games standards.
Partial access is available via the northern ramp entrance. However, the original stone seating areas require crossing uneven terrain. A 3D virtual tour app with audio description is recommended for visitors with mobility challenges.
Certified Hellenic Ministry guides offer 45-minute tours in English/French/German (€10/person). Highlights include the athletes' tunnel and the sacrificial altar ruins. Private bookings require 24-hour notice via the official website.
Sturdy closed-toe shoes are essential due to rough marble surfaces. Bring sunglasses and hats as shade is limited. Photography is permitted but tripods require special permit from the onsite archaeological office.
About 75% original materials were used in the 1960s restoration, particularly in the starting line markers. The east tribune retains its authentic curvature, while the missing columns were intentionally left unrestored per UNESCO conservation guidelines.
A designated pathway along the track edge allows close observation without damaging the ancient surface. Touching the 2,300-year-old stone lap counter is strictly prohibited. Ranger patrols enforce these heritage protection rules rigorously.

The Eden Roc Resort truly exceeded our expectations. From the delicious food and wide variety of drinks to the fun-filled activities, every moment was enjoyable. The only minor note was some hallway noise seeping into the rooms, but it wasn’t as disruptive as we initially feared. Overall, the experience was outstanding—well-organized, relaxing, and full of charm. We left feeling completely satisfied and already dreaming about returning.

Absolutely stunning resort! One of the best I've ever stayed at. The service was top-notch, and everything ran smoothly throughout our visit. The hotel is beautifully designed with spacious, well-appointed rooms and excellent dining options—food quality was consistently great. There were occasional crowds in the buffet restaurant, but nothing overwhelming. We stayed in the junior suite located in the annex building, which worked perfectly for our family—great location and easy access to everything. The only minor downside was that beach loungers were somewhat limited in number and often booked early, but even then, they were always occupied, so no real issue. Overall, this place offers incredible value and a truly relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

An absolutely unforgettable stay! From the moment we walked in, everything felt pristine and thoughtfully designed. Opening the curtains revealed a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea—no filter needed. Stepping barefoot through the back door onto the sun-kissed rocks was pure bliss, with the sea breeze gently caressing our skin. Breakfast and dinner were both abundant and delicious, served in a spacious dining area where you could watch butterflies flutter by and curious little cats wander past the windows. The staff went above and beyond—warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, just like the golden sunshine of Rhodes. We truly didn’t want to leave. Every detail, from the views to the hospitality, made this feel like a home away from home. Without a doubt, we’ll be returning again soon.

The location is fantastic—right next to the beach and just a short walk from the heart of the island. I’ve stayed here for 20 years now, and every visit continues to exceed expectations. The service has always been top-notch, consistently warm and attentive. It’s rare to find a hotel that maintains such high standards over decades, but this one truly does. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with excellent value and genuine hospitality, this is the place to be.

Staying at Mitsis la Vita was an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel's direct access to the beach is a major plus—especially since there’s a dedicated section just for guests, making it easy and enjoyable to relax by the sea. There are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, which made our stay even more convenient. We were especially happy with how well the location worked for our 9-year-old son—he had a great time exploring and playing. The only downside? One of the two elevators wasn’t working, and the other struggled to reach the 6th floor where we were staying. That meant walking up several flights every day, which got a bit tiring over time. Also surprising: construction was ongoing right next to the hotel during summer, and we could still hear noise from the site—even on Sundays. It’s a shame, but overall, the hotel offers excellent value, great service, and a fantastic beachfront setting. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for a relaxed, seaside getaway.

Absolutely recommend this gem of a hotel! Located just a short walk from the heart of Rhodes Town, it's incredibly convenient for exploring the old city and nearby attractions. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained—especially the cozy bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful, offering great local tips and even assisting with tour arrangements. What stood out most was the unbeatable value—excellent quality at a very reasonable price. For anyone visiting Rhodes, this is a top choice. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We stayed in two separate deluxe double rooms with our family, and overall it was a great experience. The rooms were brand new and extremely clean. Located just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by excellent dining options, it’s very convenient for exploring the area. The only minor downside was that the shower glass wall wasn’t fully opaque—so you could see through when someone was using the toilet. We weren’t bothered by it, but it might be an issue for more private-minded guests. Also, room soundproofing was fairly poor—some noise from adjacent rooms was noticeable, especially at night. There were quite a few young Finnish and Swedish travelers around, giving the place a lively, friendly vibe. Breakfast was decent and satisfying, nothing fancy but enough to start the day right. Despite the small drawbacks, the location, cleanliness, and value made this a standout stay. I’d definitely come back.

Villa Sofia is a peaceful retreat nestled at the foot of the hills on Rhodes Island, perfect for travelers seeking a quiet escape. The apartments are comfortable and spacious, with a large shared pool that’s ideal for relaxing under the Greek sun. While the kitchen facilities are minimal—some basic utensils are missing—it’s manageable if you’re okay with cooking light meals or dining out. The location is somewhat remote, so having a car is highly recommended for easy access to nearby towns and attractions. That said, the tranquility and mountain views make it a true haven for unwinding. If you're looking for a serene, stress-free getaway with a touch of authentic charm, this place delivers well. It's not about convenience—it’s about peace and simplicity, which makes it a great choice for a rejuvenating break.

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Oktober Downtown Boutique Hotel! The location is perfect—just a short walk from the heart of Rhodes Town, surrounded by great restaurants, shops, and local charm. Lefteris, the staff member who assisted me, went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth and comfortable—he’s truly one of the most attentive and friendly people I’ve met during my travels. The room was clean, stylish, and cozy, blending modern comfort with authentic Greek character. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience. If I ever return to Rhodes, this will absolutely be my first choice again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Perla Marina Aparthotel! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and authentic. The location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of restaurants and bars right on the street. For those looking for nightlife, Rhodos town or Faliraki are just a short ride away by bus or taxi. The property itself is quiet and well-maintained, with a lovely swimming pool and excellent air conditioning, which made sleeping so comfortable—especially with the blackout curtains keeping the room cool and dark. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about their guests. We enjoyed a few meals at the on-site restaurant, and the owner’s Stifado was unforgettable—rich, flavorful, and highly recommended. While dinner service closes in the evening, they can accommodate special requests or open during the day. Breakfast is available too, though we never tried it—we saw many other guests enjoying it daily, so it must be good! The son even gave us a passionate and detailed tour of the museum on site—he clearly knows his stuff, and the collection is impressive and well-curated. Plus, the daughter is incredibly kind and takes great care of the resident cats, ensuring they’re vaccinated, sterilized, and well-fed. It’s clear this place runs on heart as much as hospitality. There’s also a budget-friendly supermarket right across the street, making grocery shopping a breeze. The road in front of the complex gets busy, but we never had any issues—just a quick look both ways and you can safely cross at the zebra crossing. Overall, Perla Marina isn’t just a hotel—it feels like a home away from home. Exceptional value, genuine warmth, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Staying at Minos Pension was an absolute highlight of our trip to Rhodes! The rooftop view is truly breathtaking—endless blue sea stretching to the horizon, especially magical during sunset. We visited during a quieter time, so we enjoyed complete peace and quiet while soaking in the scenery. The pizza served on the rooftop was delicious—crispy crust, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh toppings. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. With stunning views, great food, excellent service, and fantastic value, this place exceeded all our expectations. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rhodes who wants a memorable stay with charm and comfort.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times now, and I can't find anything to complain about. The price-to-quality ratio is exactly what I expected. It's a small property located in a quiet area, but the location is perfect—peaceful yet well-connected. The place is spotlessly clean, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate for me—simple but satisfying. Overall, it's a great little gem with excellent value, and I'd definitely come back.
