Honestly, just one word: amazing! From the moment I walked in, everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was outstanding—plenty of variety and delicious quality, with staff who were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I stayed in room 44, a unique loft-style layout that felt quirky and cool—definitely not your average hotel room. Despite being split-level, it was incredibly quiet, making for a peaceful night’s sleep. I loved the bathroom amenities—they used my favorite brand, Baudruche, and the scent alone made me feel pampered. Granted, the room size isn’t huge compared to some mainland hotels, but considering I was staying in a beautifully preserved historic building right in the heart of Edinburgh, it felt like a real privilege. The location is fantastic—walkable to major sights and super convenient for public transit. Everything about this stay screamed quality and charm. If I ever come back to Edinburgh, this will be my first choice again. A truly unforgettable experience.

Located right at the intersection of Princes Street and Lothian Street, it sits perfectly between Old Town and New Town—just a short walk from the iconic Edinburgh Castle, with views of the fortress from the front door. The hotel itself is a historic building with rich heritage, once visited by legends like Arthur Conan Doyle, which made it extra special for us as devoted Sherlock Holmes fans. The breakfast was a classic English spread, but what stood out most was the waffle served with honey straight from a whole, fresh honeycomb—such a unique and memorable touch. There’s also a beautiful garden restaurant in the atrium, though we were pressed for time and didn’t get to experience it. Still, the atmosphere alone adds so much charm. From the location to the details, every element felt thoughtfully curated. A truly exceptional stay that exceeded expectations.

The Edinburgh Grand truly exceeded my expectations—my room was surprisingly spacious, easily one of the largest I've seen in the UK. It featured a generous private balcony with great city views, a fully equipped kitchenette, a separate living area, and a comfortable bedroom. The layout felt more like a home than a hotel, perfect for families or groups. In the UK, dining out can be extremely expensive, so having the ability to cook our own meals was a game-changer—both cost-effective and convenient. We enjoyed breakfast in bed and even prepared a few dinners, which made the trip much more relaxed. The location is excellent too—just a short walk from the city center and close to public transit. This hotel delivers luxury, comfort, and practicality all in one. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

I've stayed at Novotel properties in Switzerland and France before, and always had a positive experience—so it was natural to choose this one again during my visit to Edinburgh. The location is unbeatable: right in the heart of the city, with major attractions just a short walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, the atmosphere pleasant, and the staff helpful throughout. That said, the price is definitely on the higher side. Edinburgh is a compact city, and moving just a bit further from the centre can cut accommodation costs by half. I originally planned to extend my stay for another night, but when I checked online in the afternoon, the platform showed availability. However, upon arrival, they claimed there were no rooms left. I returned early the next morning, only to be told the same thing. In the end, I switched to another hotel just 800 meters away—same quality level, but prices were half as much. Even after factoring in a few Uber rides, the total cost was still significantly lower than staying here. While Novotel Edinburgh Centre offers excellent service and convenience, if you're budget-conscious or value flexibility, there are smarter options nearby that deliver better value without sacrificing comfort.

This Hapimag Resort in Edinburgh was an absolute delight—far beyond what I expected from a city known for pricey accommodations. Located just west of Princes Street, it’s incredibly walkable to shops and attractions, and there’s a fantastic Vietnamese pho spot right nearby that I ended up visiting twice. The room was a spacious suite with a generous seating area, a dedicated wardrobe, and an impressive bathroom—large, immaculate, and beautifully designed, complete with a relaxing whirlpool tub. Despite being on the second basement level, the room had a lovely view of a small hillside and even caught stunning sunset views through the window. It felt bright and airy, not at all damp or gloomy like some other hotels I’ve stayed in. The bed was plush and comfortable, the vanity was practical, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. The hotel’s interior is wonderfully vintage with artwork from various countries and elegant porcelain displays—truly unique and full of character. Staff were courteous and flexible, always ready to assist. Breakfast isn’t included, but you can pre-order pastries delivered to your room—a nice convenience. Entry requires a key card, which adds a great sense of security. Only note: front desk isn’t staffed 24/7, so try to check in earlier if possible—though they’ll leave a contact number if you’re arriving late. With only 30 suites, this place fills up fast—book ahead! Overall, it’s a hidden gem with exceptional style, comfort, and value. A truly memorable stay.

This was our first visit to Edinburgh, and we absolutely fell in love with the city—and especially with the Boatel, 'Wee Sisters'! From the moment we arrived, everything impressed us: the prime location just steps from the heart of town, the spotless cleanliness, the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the fully equipped kitchen that made cooking a breeze. The TVs were clear, the beds comfy, and the little touches—like fresh flowers and thoughtful amenities—made the stay feel extra special. It was so convenient, relaxing, and truly unique. Huge thanks to Natalie and her team for creating such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Due to a booking mix-up, we were upgraded to another property within the same complex—luckily, it's even closer to the train station! The location is fantastic: just a short walk from the station, making travel around Edinburgh super convenient. The room was spotless, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Even though it wasn’t our original reservation, this unexpected change actually improved our experience. Great value, excellent service, and a perfect base for exploring the city. Definitely would stay here again.

The quiet neighborhood offered a peaceful retreat, and the nearby bus stop put us just minutes away from the city center and all its top attractions. We also appreciated the large supermarket within a 15-minute walk, where we picked up groceries and essentials without hassle. From the comfort to the convenient location, every detail was thoughtfully considered. I’d absolutely stay here again on any future visit to Edinburgh—highly recommend!

The apartment-style layout is ideal for longer stays, offering plenty of space and a home-like feel. The unit was spotless, secure, and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches like a washing machine (no dryer, but drying racks were provided—very practical). It’s quiet, comfortable, and had everything we needed for both short getaways and extended trips. Great value, great vibe, and definitely a place I’d stay again.

Our stay at City Retreat Edinburgh ApartHotels was truly disappointing. The only redeeming feature was the shower, but everything else fell short. The room had a strong musty smell, and it felt visibly unclean—dust on surfaces, grime on the floor, and even the bedding seemed worn. It's located in a basement unit with steep, narrow stairs that felt eerie at night, especially since the outdoor light wasn’t working. Despite notices about noise and respecting guests above, we were repeatedly woken up by loud noises from the floor above. The wallpaper was peeling off in several spots—something I’ve photographed for proof. Overall, this place failed to meet basic standards of cleanliness and comfort. The housekeeping team needs urgent improvement, and the building clearly needs renovation. This experience ruined our trip to Edinburgh. If you're looking for a decent stay, avoid this property.
