Before check-in, the lovely concierge Jasmine reached out to us personally. At the time, only two rooms were available, so she arranged us on different floors. She escorted us straight to our room after check-in and even left fresh fruit and a mini bar—such thoughtful touches! The hotel is literally steps from the beach, making it incredibly convenient, though being in the city center means rooms aren’t huge. That said, the location more than makes up for it. On New Year’s Eve, the ground floor was packed with live music and dancing—super lively! But if you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest avoiding sea-view rooms since it can get noisy. Rooms facing the opposite side are much quieter. Jasmine stayed on top of things throughout our stay—she mentioned she’d contact the manager to speak with nearby beach vendors if the noise became an issue, which showed how genuinely attentive she was. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the Luoma Hainan rice noodles—everyone in our group agreed it was delicious. We made a beeline for that spot every morning. On arrival day, there was a free sugar cane candy event in the lobby, and Jasmine even sent us photos taken by the in-house photographer. One highlight we absolutely couldn’t miss was the hotel’s “Papai Box” photo experience. We booked in advance, and the photographer at the 9th-floor infinity pool was fantastic. He didn’t make us pose stiffly—he guided the kids naturally, capturing genuine moments and emotions. As someone who hates formal photos, this was a game-changer. My kids looked relaxed and happy, not forced at all. I highly recommend booking this service upon arrival. Once scheduled, the photographer contacts you directly with details and reminders. My original request for a sea-view room was upgraded—likely due to my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status—and I appreciated the seamless communication throughout my stay. No need to call; everything was handled instantly through WeChat, making it incredibly convenient. While the hotel isn’t brand new, it maintains the high standards expected from a JW Marriott property. The pool is spacious and beautifully designed, with complimentary refreshments available during daytime lounging. Breakfast was outstanding—offering a wide variety of dishes and staying open until 11 AM. I highly recommend trying the Hòu’ān rice noodles—they were delicious and authentic. As a resort-style getaway, the views and overall experience truly shine. It’s hard to put into words just how relaxing and immersive it felt, but trust me, pictures don’t do it justice. Stayed at the 16th floor family room from December 31st to January 2nd for New Year’s celebration — what an amazing experience! The room was spacious, clean, and quiet with no musty smell, featuring a huge double bed and a single bed that made sleeping super comfortable. Though there’s no balcony, the view from the window was stunning — distant mountains, city streets, and a glimpse of Dadaohai Bay all in one frame. The bathtub was large and spotless, perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day. The on-site restaurant on the 5th floor served breakfast from 7 AM to 1:30 PM, offering an incredible variety — everything from local Chinese dishes to Western options, fresh fruits, desserts, coffee, and juices. Dining on the open-air terrace was a highlight; enjoying morning meals while watching the beach and sea breeze was pure bliss. There was also a cute photo booth area near the entrance where guests could try on traditional Hanfu or Tang-style outfits — great fun for families and Instagram lovers alike. The 6th floor features a stylish infinity pool that’s definitely Instagram-worthy, plus a well-equipped gym. Free shuttle service to Dadaohai Beach is available, but it’s just a 5-minute walk too — super convenient. Right across from the lobby is Da Boluo Mall, and don’t miss the must-try Zuo Po Chou hotpot on the 3rd floor — spicy, sour, and unforgettable. When I needed a late check-out due to personal reasons, the front desk staff member named Wenmingyi went above and beyond to help me extend by two hours. Her kindness and professionalism truly made my stay memorable. 10/10 experience!

One minor downside was that the spa couldn’t accommodate two guests at the same time—an odd limitation since we’ve experienced flexibility at other hotels. If demand is high enough to cause this issue, it might be worth considering hiring more staff to meet guest needs. But honestly, this small inconvenience didn’t take away from the great experience. I’d definitely book here again on my next trip to Sanya.
