The pillows—super cozy and supportive, made for a great night’s sleep. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a 5-minute walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, perfect for shopping and exploring. The barbecue restaurant right downstairs is fantastic—flavorful and affordable. And next door, there’s a little steamed bun shop that serves some of the best soup dumplings I’ve had in Shanghai. Only minor downsides: the power outlets aren’t very conveniently placed, especially if you’re using a travel adapter—it’s a bit awkward to plug in things. Also, while the window opens, it faces a closed wall with no view. But honestly, since we were here mostly for convenience and not sightseeing, it didn’t bother me much. They even handed us a little welcome gift, which added a nice personal touch. True, the room furnishings are a bit dated (it’s a century-old property after all), but everything was immaculately clean and well-kept. The bed was comfy, the space felt cozy, and overall, the experience was far above expectations. Great location, great service, and excellent value—definitely coming back.

I’ve stayed at this JI Hotel several times, and while it’s on the higher end of the price range compared to other JI locations, it’s definitely worth every penny. The room is compact but thoughtfully designed—clean, modern, and surprisingly comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Its location is unbeatable—just steps away from People’s Square and close to subway access, making exploring Shanghai effortless. I always recommend it to visiting family members because of the convenience. Breakfast is available for purchase and offers a simple yet satisfying start to the day. Overall, great value, excellent service, and a fantastic base for any trip to Shanghai.
