I especially loved the beef and lamb fried rice from the restaurant right behind the hotel—it’s rich, flavorful, and totally worth a visit. I heard the property was recently acquired by Azimut, so prices might go up soon. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and great quality without breaking the bank, book it now before the rates change.

Safmar Tverskaya Hotel (ex. Marriott Hotel Tverskaya)
I stayed at what used to be the Marriott Tverskaya, now rebranded as Safmar Tverskaya Hotel—though the name’s changed, the service remains solid. Over three nights, I was given just one bottle of water (a small oversight), and the bathrobe replacement wasn’t automatic—had to ask for a new one—but once requested, it arrived quickly. The room is around 20 square meters, comfortably spacious enough for two large suitcases. What stood out most? The bed—the biggest single bed I’ve had on my entire trip through Russia, perfect for those used to generous space. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just 200 meters from Belarusian Railway Station, with metro and bus stops right outside, plus easy access to taxis. Despite being on Tverskaya Street, it’s surprisingly quiet thanks to double-glazed, vacuum-insulated windows on both levels. Breakfast was excellent—well-presented and tasty. While dairy options and traditional breakfast items were slightly limited (just one local yogurt pastry), they made up for it with fresh-squeezed juices, which were a real hit for travelers like us who aren’t always fond of heavy dairy. Everything else was covered: hot dishes, porridge, fruits, vegetables, drinks, coffee, tea, and plenty of meat, eggs, and milk. Staff kept refilling food and drinks promptly—no empty trays by mid-morning. Waking up full and ready to go each day was a true highlight. Overall, great value, top location, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend this place.
AZIMUT hotel Derbenevskaya Moscow
I booked this hotel for my daughter based on its convenient location—right near the metro, making it easy to get around Moscow. Everything was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The interior design is beautiful, the rooms are spotless, and the overall atmosphere feels welcoming. The only downside is the lack of an elevator, which made carrying heavy luggage up the stairs a bit challenging. However, I appreciated being able to leave my belongings in the room until late in the day after check-out while I sorted out some personal matters. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with any request—whether it was extra towels or local recommendations. Their attentiveness really made the stay more comfortable. Plus, housekeeping came by daily to clean the room, which kept everything fresh and tidy. As a family with a young child, we found the price point excellent for what we got—comfortable, safe, and well-located. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a quiet yet central base in Moscow.

I can't recommend this hotel at all—our experience was extremely disappointing and deeply unsettling. While the location is convenient, just a short metro ride away, the service was appalling. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive, with no regard for basic customer respect. Later, a manager named Sergey reached out, claiming he wanted to understand the situation—but his real goal seemed to be persuading us to delete our negative review. He even tried to shift blame onto me, suggesting I was at fault for the incident. When we explained that we had to cancel due to a family member’s sudden heart attack—well in advance (12 days prior), and with full prepayment for four nights—he insisted the rate was non-refundable and that our circumstances didn’t matter. He cited a message stating, 'By choosing a non-refundable rate, you accept all risks—you’ll never get your money back, even if something serious happens.' We sent medical documentation, flight tickets, and booking details as proof of the emergency, but he still refused to refund us, saying the evidence wasn’t sufficient. This contradicts Russian consumer protection laws: when services aren’t provided due to unforeseen circumstances, refunds are legally required. There was zero empathy, no understanding, and no humanity in their response. Instead, they offered a voucher in exchange for deleting our feedback—like we were the ones who caused the problem. This kind of behavior feels predatory. We’re now preparing to file a police report and take legal action for fraudulent practices. Please, avoid this hotel. Don’t let them profit from your trust. Choose a place with integrity, compassion, and transparency instead.
