Staying at Domina St. Petersburg Hotel was a delightful surprise! The exterior is modest, but the interior space is surprisingly spacious and well-designed. One thing to note: the double bed is actually two twin beds pushed together, so there’s a noticeable dip in the middle that can be uncomfortable if you move during the night. However, the breakfast was absolutely worth waking up for—especially the pastries. The sweetness level is perfect for my taste: not overly sugary, which makes it easy on the system (no insulin spike!), and very familiar to those used to Chinese-style desserts. There’s a faint hint of additives, but it doesn’t detract from the overall quality. The whole place is gently scented with elderflower—a subtle, calming fragrance that lingers in the air. The common areas are beautifully designed with soft sofas and warm lighting, making it feel instantly like home. Rooms were spotless, staff were polite and attentive, and every interaction felt genuine. If we ever return to St. Petersburg, this will be our first choice again—next time, I’m definitely booking the top-floor room. Rumor has it you can see the church domes from up there, and that view alone would make the stay unforgettable.

The location is absolutely fantastic—just a 2-3 minute walk to the Hermitage Museum, and other major attractions are easily reachable with just a short bus ride. Getting to the railway station for Lake Ladoga or other destinations is also very convenient. It’s only about an 8-9 minute walk to the famous Bookstore, and there are fast food options like Burger King and McDonald’s nearby. There’s even a gift shop right on the ground floor. The only downside was that the photos provided by the platform were misleading—I thought I had to enter through the main entrance, but it’s actually a smaller side entrance. Once inside, the elevator makes getting to the 4th-floor front desk easy. One tip: if you’re tall, the loft-standard room might feel cramped. Upgrading to a regular flat-ceiling room is definitely worth it for more space and comfort. Overall, this place offers excellent value and a great stay in St. Petersburg.
