It’s not just a garden—it’s a sanctuary. Whether I was having breakfast, reading a book, or just relaxing, this peaceful outdoor space made hostel living enjoyable and bearable. The kitchen is fully equipped with free tea and coffee, microwaves, toasters, and more. The only downside? A few stoves didn’t work, but that’s a minor issue considering how well the rest of the kitchen is kept. Showers have been upgraded recently—new ones with strong water pressure—so I highly recommend using the ones near the staircases instead of those by the garden. They’re clean, fresh, and satisfying. Staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help with local tips or activity suggestions. What really stood out compared to other hostels? The clear expectations around hygiene and cleanliness. They don’t hesitate to kindly remind guests to tidy up their space—always in a respectful, non-confrontational way. The apartment had a smart access system with magnetic key cards for both the main door and elevator. We were in a two-bedroom unit: the larger bedroom had a built-in wardrobe and a private balcony—great for relaxing. However, the second bedroom wasn’t ideal; it was separated from the living area by a partial wall that didn’t reach the ceiling, and there was only one narrow shelf for clothes. Plus, it faced a very noisy street, so we had to keep the window closed most of the time. The open-plan living-dining area included a full kitchenette, and the bathroom came with a shower. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Cleaning was done weekly, and while not daily, they provided essentials like toiletries, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Since there’s no front desk, we coordinated our check-in time directly with the onsite manager who gave us his contact number. For checkout, we simply left the keys inside the unit and walked out—no hassle at all. The rate was the highest among all my accommodations in Australia, but considering Sydney’s premium pricing and prime location, it felt justified. Overall, I’d recommend this place if you value convenience, great transport links, and a central base in a lively neighborhood.
