I visited Da Nang solo in 2017 and decided to return this time for a relaxing getaway. After searching for affordable flights from Cheongju, I found an amazing round-trip deal for just 238,000 KRW—great value! I stayed one night at Wink Icon Hotel Danang Riverside, planning to spend another night in Hoi An before coming back for one more stay here before heading home. The rooftop pool on the 25th floor is absolutely stunning—after swimming, I sat under the shade of an umbrella and wrote this review, enjoying the peaceful vibe. I also visited Ba Na Hills and am keeping things low-key this trip. Since it was spontaneous, I didn’t exchange money efficiently—only managed to convert 195,000 KRW into about 3.6 million VND at Cheongju Airport—but it’s enough for my needs. Breakfast at the hotel was surprisingly good; I added extra honey to my yogurt and loved the sweet touch. Overall, a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and quiet moments.

Santori Villa My Khe Beach
The villa itself is fantastic—beautiful location right by the beach, peaceful atmosphere, and the private pool is a real highlight. However, the management completely ruined the experience. When we checked in, we were asked to hand over our passports to the cleaning staff. Shortly after, we received a message saying they needed to take them to the police station for registration. We refused and sent photos instead, but the response was threatening—telling us they’d call the police if we didn’t comply. We told them to go ahead and call, and we weren’t worried. They backed down immediately. The next morning, we got a text asking what time we wanted to check out—we said 2 PM. Then we were told we had to be out by 12. Why even ask if you’re going to force an earlier departure? At 11 AM, we were still enjoying the pool before leaving. Suddenly, the cleaners came in without permission and started insisting on cleaning the pool area, even though we were still using it. We politely refused, but they kept pushing. What made it worse was the fact that there are cameras everywhere—in common areas, near the pool, even in the garden. It felt invasive and uncomfortable knowing strangers could be watching us swim. It’s such a shame because the property is truly beautiful. But constant pushy messages from management, lack of respect for privacy, and unnecessary stress have left a bad taste. A great place let down by poor handling.

The room came with a microwave and kettle, making self-catering super easy. They even lend out hats for guests to try on, and if you fall in love with one, you can buy it right there. The toiletries were top-notch—definitely on par with those found in five-star hotels. For the price, this is absolutely outstanding. A perfect blend of charm, comfort, and value—10/10 without a doubt.

Just a one-minute walk takes you to the soft white sands of My Khe Beach, where morning breezes, fresh air, sunrise, and the gentle mist of seawater on your skin make you feel like you're walking on clouds. The staff are absolutely outstanding—always smiling, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. Even if you ask for something outside the usual offerings, they go above and beyond with care and attention. Many of the team are university students fluent in English, which makes communication smooth, natural, and professional. Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM—simple but satisfying, not a buffet overload like chain hotels. Everything is freshly prepared, tasty, and filling. If you want something special, the chef will happily cook it for you, treating you like family. At first, the personal touch felt a bit unusual, but we quickly grew to love the warm connection between guests and staff. Rooms are spacious, spotless, and inviting. Housekeeping is available anytime you need it, and if you’d like to cook your own meal, basic utensils and cookware are provided. Every day, a small care package arrives with bottled water, fresh towels, and toilet paper—such a thoughtful detail! There’s also a cool, roomy fridge in the room stocked with affordable soft drinks, beer, and water. The pool is clean and well-maintained—occasional leaves float by, but regular cleaning keeps everything tidy. And every time we swim, someone immediately brings a towel.
