My mom and I stayed in a ground-floor apartment, and since she has mobility challenges, the property truly accommodated her needs with thoughtful design—level floors, a spacious walk-in wet room with a washing machine, and easy access to the pool area. The daily cleaning was exceptional, keeping everything spotless and fresh. Our unit faced the lovely pool, shaded by an elegant sun canopy with ceiling fans that kept us cool during the hot days. The view across the Nile was breathtaking—serene, picturesque, and full of charm. We were lucky to hear frogs croaking at night, then wake up to see a mother buffalo and her calf grazing peacefully along the riverbank—moments that made our trip unforgettable. The staff are warm, polite, and genuinely helpful—no request was too small. Local restaurants and a convenient shop are just steps away, and river taxis offer quick trips for mini cruises or adventures down the Nile. This is more than just a stay—it’s an experience. The hospitality was outstanding, and it made our holiday truly special. We’re already planning to return in 2024. If you want the authentic Luxor experience with comfort, charm, and personal care, this is the only place to stay.
HS Moondance Monday to Friday
We spent four amazing days and three nights aboard the Moondance from March 13th to 16th, and it was truly unforgettable. The boat itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with a lovely pool perfect for relaxing under the Egyptian sun. The food quality was excellent throughout our stay, but what really stood out was our server—so cheerful, funny, and attentive! He made every meal feel special with his warm personality and little jokes. We also appreciated the crew’s flexibility when we asked to switch rooms to avoid engine noise—they kindly moved us to a front-facing cabin with panoramic views along the Nile. Waking up to those breathtaking scenes of the river and desert landscape was an absolute highlight for my family and me. From start to finish, the service, comfort, and attention to detail were outstanding. This wasn’t just a cruise—it was an experience. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor.

I was really surprised by the Nile Panorama Hotel—it’s not at all what I expected based on the high ratings. The property is actually just a converted farmhouse in a rural village, with a small rooftop pool surrounded by palm trees and farm animals like goats, donkeys, and cows wandering around. While the setting is unique, getting there is a major hassle. I left from Luxor East Bank at 1:30 PM and only arrived at 2:30 PM after struggling with confusing navigation—my route was even blocked by a construction digger. No one was at the front desk when I arrived, and I had to call to get someone to come out. Check-in took longer than expected. By the time I got a ride, it was already 3:30 PM, and the driver wanted $30 just to take me to Karnak Temple. I ended up arriving late and only had about an hour to explore. I tried to check out and cancel my stay that night, but the owner refused, which was frustrating. Taxis are extremely expensive—starting at 100 EGP just to go anywhere, 200 EGP to return to East Bank, and 250–350 EGP for evening trips back. Drivers also have no idea where the hotel is, so they spend ages asking directions. The only positives? A surprisingly good free breakfast and a great view of hot air balloons at sunrise. However, lunch and dinner options are overpriced and not worth it. Overall, unless you’re looking for a remote, off-grid experience and don’t mind unreliable service and high transport costs, this isn’t a recommended choice. For the price, you can find much better value elsewhere.
Iberotel Luxor
Staying at Iberotel Luxor was a highlight of our trip to Luxor. Located right at the end of the main hotel street, it’s just steps away from the scenic Nile River promenade on the East Bank, with plenty of dining options nearby. The Winter Palace and Luxor Temple are both within a 10-minute walk—perfect for morning strolls. While Karnak Temple is a bit farther, a short taxi ride (about 10 minutes, around 50 EGP) gets you there quickly. The room was spacious, and while the furnishings were a bit dated, everything was clean and well-maintained—especially the bedding. The mattress was firm and supportive, not one of those sinking-in types, which made for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was easily the best we had in Egypt—far more variety than at other hotels we’ve stayed at, including the famous Old Falls Hotel. It’s a real gem in terms of value and location, and I’d definitely return without hesitation.

Noise from neighboring rooms was noticeable, especially since one adjacent door seemed locked and inaccessible. That said, the real highlights here are the value and unique charm. The small courtyard is incredibly photogenic and perfect for capturing that authentic Luxor vibe. From the rooftop, you can catch breathtaking views of hot air balloons floating over the Nile at sunrise—truly unforgettable.
