Villa al Diwan luxor Nile view with pool

This charming villa overlooking the Nile River lives up to its name—'a gathering place for family'—and that’s exactly how we felt during our stay. The staff were incredibly generous and kind, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. They prepared delicious meals, kept our rooms spotless, handled laundry, and even helped us find a doctor and get prescriptions when needed. The architecture is stunning: vaulted brick ceilings (even in our room), elegant common areas, a rooftop lounge, and spacious balconies with breathtaking panoramic views of the river made every moment special. Only two rooms have private bathrooms; the others share two large communal bathrooms on the second floor, where you’ll also find a shared hairdryer, iron, and ironing board—all neatly stored in what feels more like a cozy lounge area with couches, bookshelves full of books to borrow, and a relaxed vibe. Please bring your own soap and shampoo, as only hand wash is provided per bathroom. Towels and washcloths are plentiful. Breakfast was a delightful mix of crepe-wrapped eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, jams, honey, coffee, tea, and boxed juices (orange, mango, guava, apple). Dinners started with homemade soups, hummus, and salad, followed by hearty dishes like meat, rice, potatoes, vegetables, and ended with elegant tarts, simple fruits, or once, a decadent chocolate mousse. The pool was a bit chilly for swimming during our visit, but it looked inviting in warmer weather. Still, the pool deck and rooftop terrace were perfect spots to unwind—especially with a glass of wine before dinner. Take a stroll along the quiet village streets to experience local life, though be prepared for friendly kids greeting you and asking for money. Bring plenty of pens or individually wrapped candies to hand out instead of cash. Major attractions are just a 20-minute drive away—easy access without the noise and chaos of downtown Luxor. Don’t forget to tip the staff upon departure; they truly earned it with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. This is a must-visit if you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable stay by the Nile.

Iberotel Luxor

Staying at Iberotel Luxor was a highlight of our trip to Luxor. Located right at the end of the main hotel street, it’s just steps away from the scenic Nile River promenade on the East Bank, with plenty of dining options nearby. The Winter Palace and Luxor Temple are both within a 10-minute walk—perfect for morning strolls. While Karnak Temple is a bit farther, a short taxi ride (about 10 minutes, around 50 EGP) gets you there quickly. The room was spacious, and while the furnishings were a bit dated, everything was clean and well-maintained—especially the bedding. The mattress was firm and supportive, not one of those sinking-in types, which made for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was easily the best we had in Egypt—far more variety than at other hotels we’ve stayed at, including the famous Old Falls Hotel. It’s a real gem in terms of value and location, and I’d definitely return without hesitation.

Sofitel Winter Palace Luxor

住過無數酒店,這間真的超出預期!盧克索索菲特冬宮酒店簡直像從歷史畫卷走出來一樣,氣派又典雅。雖然設施不算最新,但整體乾淨度一流,每一個角落都打理得井井有條。最驚喜係電梯——復古設計超有味道,搭一次就上癮!花園更唔一般,佈局用心,香氣撲鼻的印度茉莉花、高大嘅仙人掌,竟然仲有孔雀同火烈鳥在園內悠閒漫步,真係好似置身於埃及皇室後花園。早餐絕對值回票價,食材新鮮,選擇多到眼花撩亂,服務員態度熱情,連熱拿鐵都係今次埃及之旅喝過最好嘅一杯!晚上仲可以試下酒店嘅香檳,氣泡細緻,層次豐富,真心推薦一定要試一試。性價比高,住一次就知!」},{

Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel

Staying at Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel was a highlight of my trip to Luxor. The morning view of hot air balloons floating over the desert is absolutely breathtaking—worth waking up early just for that moment. The hotel’s location is excellent, right near major attractions and easy to get around by public transport. While breakfast was standard Western-style fare—not overly exciting but filling and well-served—the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, the experience was fantastic. It’s a great balance of comfort, convenience, and value, especially for travelers who want to explore Luxor without spending too much time commuting. I’d definitely book here again on future visits.

Royal House Hotel

Staying at Royal House Hotel was a great experience, especially for its convenient location near the Egyptian Museum—walking distance to many key sights. While the room decor is simple, it’s clean and comfortable enough for a relaxing night’s sleep. The highlight? The street vendor right outside offering authentic Egyptian sandwiches—delicious, affordable, and such a local favorite. It's also just a short walk from the popular Kazaz spot, making dining out super easy. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly—they helped me book a taxi at a fair price, which made getting around town hassle-free. I highly recommend trying Kazaz for both their food and refreshing drinks; everything tasted fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value and a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in Luxor.

Pavillon Winter Luxor

Staying at Pavillon Winter Luxor by Sofitel was an absolute highlight of my trip to Egypt. The cleanliness blew me away—hands down the cleanest hotel I've stayed in across the country. The linens were soft and comfortable, and I slept like a baby for several nights straight. The staff were incredibly attentive and always greeted guests with a warm smile—no robotic service here. There's security and screening at the entrance, which made me feel safe right from arrival. Stepping into the hotel felt like entering another world—completely different from the bustling streets outside. The air was fresh, the gardens beautifully landscaped, and the balcony offered perfect spots to relax and enjoy the views. While the facilities aren’t quite on par with top-tier international five-star standards, they’re absolutely excellent for Egypt’s hospitality scene. Hot showers were fantastic, and the air conditioning kept the room comfortably cool even during the heat. Overall, it’s a standout choice with great value—perfect for travelers seeking comfort, cleanliness, and a peaceful retreat in Luxor.

Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa

The staff at Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa were incredibly welcoming and genuinely helpful—what truly stood out was their multilingual abilities, making communication effortless no matter where you’re from. The ambiance is serene, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the spa experience was absolutely rejuvenating. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. Amon Hotel

Staying at Amon Hotel in Luxor felt like stepping into a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. From the moment I arrived, the attention to detail in the design was immediately apparent—elegant, thoughtful, and full of character. The breakfast was exceptional: fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully curated with local flavors that truly stood out. My favorite part? The spacious garden just outside my window—opening it up let in a gentle breeze filled with greenery and serenity. In the evenings, they light a cozy bonfire, and sitting by it sipping tea or coffee while watching the stars come out was pure bliss. The pool area is beautifully landscaped and perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the temples. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready to help without being intrusive. Despite being close to the city center, the hotel feels secluded and tranquil—a true escape. Every little touch shows passion and care. This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience. I’d absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for something special in Luxor.

Al Hambra Hotel

Located in a quiet village on the West Bank of Luxor, this hotel is definitely not for those seeking convenience or nearby dining options—meals are mostly limited to the hotel’s own offerings. The breakfast at 150 EGP per person wasn’t great and not worth the price, so we skipped it entirely. Room conditions were dated, though functional, and the bathroom shower setup was underwhelming. Noise from neighboring rooms was noticeable, especially since one adjacent door seemed locked and inaccessible. That said, the real highlights here are the value and unique charm. The small courtyard is incredibly photogenic and perfect for capturing that authentic Luxor vibe. From the rooftop, you can catch breathtaking views of hot air balloons floating over the Nile at sunrise—truly unforgettable. Dinner options are reasonably priced and satisfying, making it easy to eat onsite without breaking the bank. Overall, if you're budget-conscious, don’t mind basic amenities, and appreciate a peaceful setting with a touch of local character, this place offers solid value. It’s not luxurious, but it gets the job done—and for travelers focused on experiences rather than comfort, it’s a decent pick.

El Mesala Hotel

The hotel lived up to every expectation—exactly as described. The restaurant offers an incredible view overlooking the Nile, perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks. It's incredibly convenient being just a short walk from the public ferry terminal, making it easy to explore nearby temples and attractions without hassle. The location is peaceful yet well-connected, and the staff are attentive and friendly. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed, from the room layout to the local touches in decor. For anyone visiting Luxor, this is a top choice—beautiful, practical, and truly memorable.

Nile Valley Hotel

Staying at Nile Valley Hotel was one of the highlights of my trip to Luxor. Located on the quieter side of the West Bank, it’s just a 2-minute walk to the ferry crossing—perfect for early morning trips across the Nile. The only minor issue was some barking dogs outside around 4 AM, but honestly, that didn’t ruin the experience. I stayed for two nights during the early summer low season, and with only one other guest in the hotel, I felt like I had the place all to myself—including the pool, which was clean, refreshing, and perfect after a long day exploring ancient temples and tombs. Breakfast was simple but adequate: eggs, fresh bread, fruit, coffee, and tea. It made sense given the small number of guests—no need for a full spread when you're not serving many people. I didn’t visit the rooftop restaurant since I wanted to keep the peace and enjoy the quiet vibe. The staff were very welcoming—they even offered me a beer upon arrival and later brought one by the pool, which was a nice touch. There’s no Wi-Fi in the room, but the pool area has reliable internet, so it worked well for checking things online. The property is a bit dusty, which is common throughout Egypt, but inside the room was spotless, with excellent air conditioning and stunning views of the Nile. The local staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Plus, there’s ongoing construction right in front of the hotel—a new welcome plaza for the ferry terminal—which didn’t disturb my stay at all. In fact, it’ll be a great addition once finished. Overall, this place offers a peaceful, authentic Egyptian experience with great value. I’d definitely stay here again on my next visit and highly recommend it.

MS Alexander the Great Nile Cruise

This Nile cruise absolutely surpassed my expectations. The spacious cabins provided plenty of room and comfort, while the sun deck was perfect for relaxing under the Egyptian sun. The meals were exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared with a mix of local and international dishes. The small size of the vessel meant a more intimate experience, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. I originally considered hiring my own guides, but decided to go with the onboard sightseeing package instead—and I’m so glad I did. Our guide, Hamad, was knowledgeable, engaging, and made every stop come alive. Plus, timing delays at river locks can make coordinating with outside guides tricky and stressful, so having everything arranged through the cruise team was a huge relief. From start to finish, this was a luxurious, seamless journey through Egypt’s most iconic landmarks. If you’re looking for a high-quality, hassle-free Nile experience, this is the one to book.
