One thing that stood out was the front foyer—it looked brand new, almost giving the impression that the rooms might be freshly renovated, though the apartments themselves felt a bit dated. Free secure luggage storage was a big plus, especially for travelers arriving early or departing late. The pool area was a highlight—serene, inviting, and a great way to unwind after exploring the city. Even the tiny balcony was useful: just enough space to sit or hang up laundry. The TV didn’t work—no power cord even—but with such a short stay and no need for entertainment, it wasn’t an issue. Located in a central part of Budapest, it’s surprisingly quiet and peaceful—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The apartment itself was well-equipped: TV, microwave, dishwasher, and kettle were all available (I didn’t use the microwave or kettle personally, but knowing they’re there adds real convenience). The bathroom was functional and located near the hallway, which worked well for privacy. I stayed on the first floor, and the windows faced an interior garden, so noise from outside wasn’t an issue at all—great for a good night’s sleep. The only downside? There are a few homeless individuals hanging around outside the entrance, but they’re harmless and never caused any concern. Overall, this place offers excellent value, ideal for travelers who want a quiet yet centrally located stay in Budapest without sacrificing comfort or convenience.
Erkel Rooftop Suites
Our stay at Erkel Rooftop Suites in Budapest was extremely disappointing. We left the apartment with the air conditioning on due to the sweltering heat, only to return and find that both AC units were completely non-functional. We had just one working fan, while the second one was broken. To make things worse, the umbrella on the terrace was also damaged, leaving us unable to use the outdoor space under the blazing sun. The next day, a technician arrived but told us neither the umbrella nor the ACs could be repaired — and he didn’t even bring any tools to fix the broken fan. Later, another staff member showed up with a replacement fan, claiming he wasn’t informed about the issue and therefore came unprepared. What made it worse was that I paid a €150 deposit for potential damages, with a clear promise of refund within 2–7 business days. After three days of follow-ups, there’s still no response or refund. No communication, no solutions — just silence. It feels like we were treated as a cash grab rather than guests. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in the property, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
