I stayed at Ling Inn in Kaohsiung, and overall, the experience was just average. The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the metro station, which is great for exploring the city. However, the room is on the second floor of a corrugated metal building, giving it a somewhat basic and dated feel. The main issue was the hot water—while it heated up quickly, it ran out within minutes and the flow was quite weak, making showering a bit frustrating. I also noticed some cleanliness concerns: there were visible dust marks on the desk and bathroom counter, and the shower floor still had damp spots after use. It’s clear that housekeeping could use more attention. While this place might work for budget travelers who don’t mind simplicity, those looking for comfort and better hygiene should consider other options. Not bad for the price, but definitely not memorable.

The room was surprisingly spacious with a ceiling height of over 6 meters, giving it an airy and luxurious feel. The twin room featured a beautifully detailed oil painting on the wall beside the nightstand—though some paint had slightly chipped over time, it only added character and depth to the vintage ambiance. The interior design truly embraced a classic old-money aesthetic, with subtle touches like a hanging closet rack secured by a metal ring on the beam, where the hanger itself could be detached using a nail-secured clip. It’s these small details that made the space feel so unique and authentic. A large bathtub completed the room—a true nod to Japanese-inspired relaxation. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better: just a short walk to the ferry terminal, surrounded by local eateries, boutiques, and convenience stores. Within about 20 minutes on foot, you’ll find a large supermarket for all your essentials. But the real highlight? The breakfast. A fantastic mix of Chinese and Western options—handmade buns with coconut filling, black sesame, red bean paste, warm soy milk, sweet potato porridge, plus fresh breads and pastries. I especially loved the seaweed soup with vegetarian meat and bamboo shoots—it was hands-down the best Chinese breakfast I’ve had in Taiwan. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everything about this stay felt thoughtfully curated. If you’re looking for a memorable, well-located, and uniquely styled hotel experience in Kaohsiung, this is a must-visit.
Hua Xiang Hotel - Zuoying
This hotel offers incredible value for money! The lobby is stunning and perfect for photos—definitely a great spot to capture some Instagram-worthy moments. There's a complimentary snack and drink station where you can help yourself anytime, and breakfast the next morning is included with a nice variety of options. Even better, parking fees are covered by the hotel if you park on the street—no extra charges at all. Located in a lively area, there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, making it super convenient for dining and exploring. I’d definitely stay here again!

Located just steps from the metro station, getting around Kaohsiung was effortless. This hotel offers outstanding value for money and exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be back.

The rooms are spotlessly clean with no dust or overlooked corners—every detail is well-maintained. Located just a short walk from the metro station, it's incredibly convenient for getting around Kaohsiung city center. There are plenty of local restaurants and night markets nearby, making it easy to enjoy authentic food and nightlife. The staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request. Cleanliness, location, and service all come together perfectly. It's an outstanding value for the price—definitely my go-to choice whenever I'm in Kaohsiung.
Katherine Plaza Hotel
We booked Katherine Plaza Hotel for a family trip and arrived around 5 PM. The front desk staff were very welcoming, clearly explained room details, and provided all the necessary info about meal times—great service right from the start. Walking into the room, we were immediately impressed by the clean environment; the walls looked freshly renovated, and the overall vibe felt cozy and homely—like staying at grandma’s place. One small downside: some TV channels had poor signal quality, and the programming leaned heavily toward K-dramas, sports, and movies. Also, the lighting in the room wasn’t bright enough when watching TV. The bathroom is spacious, but lacks proper wet/dry separation—adding a shower curtain would definitely improve safety and convenience. Breakfast was a highlight: generous and varied, with fresh stir-fried dishes, side pickles for congee, toast, buns, steamed bread, and more—perfect for starting the day on a full note. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—just steps away from Central Park, Dali Department Store, Hanshin Mall, and within walking distance to Music & Pop Culture Hall and Zhuangzhi (Dabu) Art District. There are countless restaurants nearby, so dining options are endless. If we ever come back to Kaohsiung, this hotel will be our top choice. Thanks to the team for such a warm and thoughtful stay!

Staying at Tenz Go Hotel was a delightful experience from start to finish. The location is excellent—just a short walk from major attractions and some of the best local eateries in Kaohsiung, making it super convenient for exploring the city. Breakfast was a real highlight: fresh, well-prepared, and offering a great variety of options, including authentic local pastries that were a treat. The third-floor game room was a fun bonus for kids and adults alike, while the first-floor tea lounge offered a relaxing spot to unwind with complimentary snacks and drinks. Room amenities were mostly top-notch—especially the bidet toilet, which made mornings much more comfortable. The only minor issue was a slightly loose shower arm, but it didn’t affect the overall comfort. Clean, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere make this hotel a standout choice. If you're looking for a cozy, centrally located stay with great value, I highly recommend giving Tenz Go Hotel a try.

I stayed at Mu Chen Hotel in Kaohsiung for one night and had a great experience overall. The location is very convenient—just a short subway ride to Kaohsiung Station and the city center. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. The only thing I noticed was a slightly strong cleaning scent, but that’s common after thorough sanitization and not a dealbreaker. Considering the price and quality, it’s definitely a solid choice. I’d happily stay here again on my next trip to Kaohsiung.
