Staying at Novotel Düsseldorf City West (Seestern) was a delightful surprise. Despite being away from the main tourist areas, it's incredibly well-connected: a short metro ride takes you to downtown Düsseldorf, Königsallee, and the central train station. I especially enjoyed walking to the city’s Japanese-style architecture—along the way, there are charming little shops and cafés that add to the unique vibe. The room itself was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials. Everything from the bedding to the bathroom amenities felt clean and modern. The facilities were reliable and functional, making the whole experience seamless. It’s a great choice if you want comfort, convenience, and a calm retreat in a vibrant city.

The stay was underwhelming overall. The apartment only features a bedroom and a large kitchen table—no separate living room, which makes the space feel cramped. The lighting is overly bright and some fixtures don’t work properly. I noticed paper cups being used instead of glassware, which felt like a real oversight in quality control. The balcony overlooks a P-garage, so the view isn’t great. The front side of the building faces a busy tram line and traffic, making mornings noisy and hard to relax. Several faucets were dripping or malfunctioning, clearly needing maintenance. Most disappointing was the price—it’s too high for what’s actually offered. With better value alternatives available nearby, this place doesn’t justify the cost, especially for a short visit. Would not recommend unless you’re on a tight schedule and have no other options.

We stayed at Hotel Villa im Park in Düsseldorf from yesterday to today and were greeted warmly upon arrival. The staff went above and beyond—especially since we were in town for a special occasion, they allowed us to check in early, which was a pleasant surprise and definitely not something you’d expect everywhere. While it’s true that you can hear planes occasionally—after all, the hotel is near an airport—this is unavoidable and didn’t bother us at all. We found the location convenient, the rooms comfortable, and the overall value excellent. If we ever have another reason to visit Düsseldorf, we’ll absolutely book here again. One note: I reviewed some older guest feedback before booking and noticed several negative comments about unfriendliness, high prices, and cleanliness issues. However, based on what I’ve learned, these reviews likely date back to before the property’s ownership change in December 2019. Since then, the management and service quality have significantly improved. It would be fairer to update or remove outdated reviews so future guests aren’t misled by past experiences under a different operator.
