Every detail — from room names like 'First Success' and 'Top of the Dragon' to the subtle academic motifs throughout — reflects a deep appreciation for China’s scholarly past. The location is unbeatable: just steps from the heart of Confucius Temple, within walking distance of the ancient Jiangnan Imperial Examination Hall and Old Men Dong. At night, strolling along the riverfront lit up by lanterns is pure magic. What truly surprised me was how quiet it felt indoors despite being in such a lively area — the double-glazed windows effectively blocked out all external noise, making for some of the best sleep I’ve had on my trip. Staff were incredibly warm and attentive; I even received a friendly call before check-in.
