Staying at Blossom House·Hou Hai Beijing in Yangfang Hutong was such a delightful experience. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Houhai Lake and the Drum Tower, making it perfect for exploring Beijing’s historic heart. The hotel’s interior design stands out with its creative use of irregular shapes, which might not be everyone’s taste, but I appreciated the unique character. What truly impressed me was the comfort of the bed—excellent mattress and high-quality linens made for a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast offered both set menus and à la carte options, so there was something for everyone, and nothing went to waste. The staff—Liu Linlin, Xiao Xi, and Xiao Zheng—were incredibly warm and attentive. They helped with luggage, offered free yogurt and fresh fruit, and always had a smile. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being welcomed into a home. This place has a special charm, and I’ll definitely return.

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the eggs—perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and soft center. However, the wonton soup could use more depth in flavor. Adding some rice noodles or vermicelli dishes, maybe even a spicy beef noodle option, would be a great addition to the menu. Honestly, the moment I arrived, I was struck by how intimate yet thoughtfully designed the space feels—every detail tells a story. The service was exceptional too. Special thanks to Lucy, the tall and friendly staff member who gently warned me about the busy breakfast rush during peak hours. Without her tip, I’d have been overwhelmed! And the mini bar in the room? Overwhelmingly stocked—so much food and drinks I couldn’t possibly finish. Bonus points for being pet-friendly, even if my shy cat didn’t get to enjoy it. Seeing those adorable dogs at check-out brought a real smile to my face.
