Honestly, I'm baffled by the 4.4 rating on the platform—this place deserves way more. We stayed in room 3009 and were upgraded by the front desk, which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious, quiet, and impeccably clean with big windows that flooded the space with natural light—morning sunrises were absolutely beautiful. Compared to the adjacent 3010 room, ours felt significantly larger. The elevator was fast and silent, a huge upgrade from the other Oakwood property in the same complex. When we arrived, two friendly staff members immediately came over to help with our luggage and even carried it straight to our room—something I’ve never experienced at a five-star hotel like the Garden Hotel, where you’re always left to carry your own bags. Even the chance to tip was missing! Breakfast was small but thoughtfully curated—each item was delicious and fresh. Sitting by the window enjoying a quiet morning meal while watching the city come alive was pure joy. The staff in the dining area were warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic. This was hands down the best hotel experience of our trip—having stayed at the Jin Mao in Shanghai, the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou, and the Guoguang Haosheng in Sanya. Still, overall it felt very clean and well-maintained, which is important when traveling with kids. The hotel’s circular design creates a pleasant atmosphere, and the second floor has a convenient retail area plus an on-site restaurant. On the ground floor, you’ll find 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Nayuki, KFC, and even Tao Tao Ju—a real bonus for food lovers who don’t want to leave the building. Everything is within walking distance, and being near Zhujiang New Town makes getting around the city super easy via subway. Service stood out—when I asked to switch rooms, staff responded quickly and even upgraded me to a window-facing room on the outer side of the building because they noticed I had young kids, thinking the closed-window inner room might feel stuffy. However, after one night during a sudden drop in temperature, I found the open window let in too much cold air, so I requested to switch back to a sealed-window room. They accommodated me without hesitation. The only small downside was the awkward toothbrush spot—seems the previous guest left it in a tricky corner, and it wasn’t fully cleaned up. But honestly, this didn’t affect my experience much. Overall, great value, excellent location, and friendly staff—definitely recommend for travelers seeking convenience and comfort.
