Diana's Luxury Bed and Breakfast
I rarely leave reviews, but after a four-day stay at Diana's Luxury B&B, I felt compelled to warn others. This place couldn’t be further from luxury—it’s more like a cluttered storage unit than a home. Every inch of floor and wall space is packed with cheap, mass-market knickknacks—let’s be honest, they’re not even decorative, just messy. No air conditioning forced the host to keep steel shutters closed all day, making the interior stuffy and eerie. The bed was uncomfortable, with low-quality bedding that caused back pain each morning—plus, the sheets were mismatched and stained with bleach marks. Breakfast was worse: a hard-boiled egg, dry bread, a small yogurt, and half a fruit. Minimal, unappetizing, and uninspired. Even the spreads—jam, peanut butter, etc.—were in large jars reused over and over by countless guests. It’s gross, honestly. We paid a lot for four nights, and it completely ruined our trip. I truly feel cheated. Please think twice before booking here—there are far better, more comfortable, and hygienic options available at a fraction of the cost. Don’t waste your money or time.

Stayed at EXchange Hotel Vancouver for four nights and had a great experience overall. The rooms were spotlessly clean, staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The only minor downside was the mattress—it’s quite soft, which is actually common across most hotels in Canada, especially if you have back issues. We ended up sleeping directly on the bed frame instead, which worked better for us. Location-wise, it’s excellent—both SkyTrain lines converge right nearby, making it super easy to get around the city without needing to transfer. One thing worth noting: water pressure is a bit low, but that’s something I’ve noticed in several Canadian hotels too, so it’s not unique here. All things considered, this place offers fantastic value, convenience, and comfort for travelers who want a central, no-fuss stay in Vancouver.
West End Guest House
Staying at West End Guest House felt like coming home—warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Kathy was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help with local tips and travel advice. My room was spotless, thoughtfully furnished, and so comfortable I barely wanted to leave. The atmosphere had that cozy, personal touch you don’t often find in bigger hotels. Breakfast by Barbara was a true highlight—creative and beautifully presented, almost too artistic to eat! That said, I personally would have loved a simpler English breakfast option alongside the gourmet dishes. Still, the overall experience was outstanding. From the location near downtown Vancouver to the thoughtful touches throughout, this place offers a genuine, intimate stay. If you're looking for something special and authentic, this is it. Definitely worth returning.
Balfour House
It's truly disappointing to see a property with heritage status allowed to deteriorate so badly. There are multiple holes in the roof, the yard and garden are completely neglected, and the surrounding area shows no signs of maintenance. Water pressure is weak, and the temperature control is inconsistent—during winter, the heating isn’t sufficient, making it necessary to wear a jacket just to stay warm. It’s clear the owners don’t care much about the property, let alone guest comfort. Yet they’re still happy to take your money. Avoid this place—your money would be better spent elsewhere. The condition is only going to get worse, and more complaints will follow. Eventually, the City of Vancouver may be forced to shut it down, which it absolutely should. This isn’t a proper B&B anymore—it’s a warning sign.

Staying at this Holiday Inn & Suites in Vancouver Downtown was an absolute highlight of my trip. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from all the major downtown attractions, and public transit is super convenient. I loved how many great restaurants were within steps of the hotel, making dinner plans effortless. What really stood out to me was the value for money—given how pricey hotels can be in Vancouver, this place offers excellent quality without breaking the bank. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a comfortable stay overall. It’s definitely one of the best options for travelers who want convenience and affordability in the heart of the city.

This was my first visit to Vancouver, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. The hotel is perfectly located—just a short walk from the city center and close to transit options. There are great Chinese restaurants right downstairs, which made dining super convenient. Special shoutout to Daniel from Korea and Xiao Wang from Xi’an at the front desk—both were incredibly friendly and helpful. Xiao Wang even took the time to draw me a personalized map showing local attractions and public transport routes. Her thoughtfulness really made me feel welcome. Even though the hotel was busy, the service remained warm and efficient. A fantastic stay with excellent value. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.

Arriving at the hotel from the airport via SkyTrain was incredibly convenient—no transfers needed, and we were there in no time. The hotel’s location is perfect, right on a main street with a large shopping center just steps away, making dining and shopping super easy. There's also a taxi stand right outside, which made getting around hassle-free. We arrived at 10 a.m., and not only were we given an early check-in, but our room was upgraded too—so we could relax straight away without waiting. The facilities are excellent: a well-equipped gym, a lovely indoor pool, and everything you’d expect from a top-tier hotel. What really stood out was the bathroom—having a flexible showerhead that can be adjusted freely made washing hair so much easier. And the hairdryer? Not some tiny one that barely dries long hair—it actually works! I’ve already decided this will be my go-to hotel whenever I visit Vancouver again. A truly outstanding stay.
