The William Vale

The William Vale offers a fantastic stay with stylish, comfortable rooms and an exceptional rooftop bar that delivers amazing views and a great vibe. The location is walkable and well-connected by subway, making it easy to explore New York City. While parking fees are on the higher side, they don’t take away from the overall experience. This place truly stands out for its modern design, excellent service, and unbeatable atmosphere—definitely a top choice for a memorable trip.

International Students Residence

I stayed at the International Students Residence and was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and practical it felt. The kitchen is one of the friendliest I've used—perfect for cooking meals on a budget, which is great for students. There's even a piano in the common area, which adds a nice touch for relaxing or playing during downtime. My room was clean and comfortable, and while the bathroom and shower are shared, they’re well-maintained and functional. It’s affordable without compromising on basics, and being close to public transit makes getting around New York easy. A solid choice for students looking for value and a cozy vibe.

Wythe Hotel

This hotel is absolutely stunning—immaculate from top to bottom, and every staff member goes above and beyond with their warmth and professionalism. While the hotel doesn’t offer parking, there’s a great value lot just a two-minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2.5 days, which was incredibly reasonable. The room itself was a dream: exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and a bathroom that felt like a spa—with a massive tub and a powerful shower. Pro tip: if you’re sharing a room with someone you don’t want to see naked, be aware the shower partition isn’t a one-way mirror—you can actually see into it when someone’s showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so no issues there. Both the in-house restaurant and the ramen spot next door are fantastic—definitely worth trying. I didn’t make it to the rooftop bar this time, but since I’ll be back every time I visit NYC, it’s definitely on my list for next time. The room was extremely quiet, and temperature control was effortless. That said, as someone who’s highly sensitive to energy and atmosphere, I did notice some unusual things right from the moment I walked in. Nothing scary—I’m not prone to fear—but I experienced several undeniable phenomena: seeing movement down the hall in both my room and the public corridor, hearing voices speaking clearly nearby when I was alone in the shower, and even hearing the stairwell door open directly beside our room, only to find it empty when I checked. It wasn’t coming from another room—it felt immediate, personal. After returning home, my daughter looked up the building’s history, and let’s just say it shed light on everything. There’s a reason why the third floor (near what used to be a fire escape) felt particularly charged. It also explains why my first thought upon opening the front door was, “I’m surprised they get away with inward-opening doors—this violates fire code.” Anyway, if you’re curious, do your own research. But regardless of all that, this is an exceptional hotel at a fair price, located in a safe and beautiful part of Brooklyn. I’ll be back again without hesitation.

Aura Hotel Brooklyn

Staying at Aura Hotel Brooklyn was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from subway lines and surrounded by great restaurants, cafes, and local shops. I especially want to thank Shaina, Lily, and Sunny for their warm welcome and genuine hospitality—they made us feel right at home. The room was clean, modern, and well-appointed with everything we needed. Comfortable bed, quiet space, and excellent lighting made for a restful night. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. If you're visiting Brooklyn, this hotel is a top pick. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, convenient, and welcoming stay.

Brooklyn Broadway Hotel

The stay was far from ideal despite a clean and comfortable room. While one front desk staff member was helpful when he finally showed up, the overall experience left much to be desired. There's no proper lobby—just a glass-enclosed counter—and anyone from the street can walk in and out freely, even using the elevators without restriction. The constant foot traffic from outside made the atmosphere noisy and chaotic, seriously disrupting any sense of peace or privacy. It felt more like staying in a public corridor than a hotel. I regret not reading reviews before booking and would absolutely not recommend this place. Definitely not staying here again.

Super 8 by Wyndham Brooklyn Williamsburg

The hotel is excellent overall—clean, well-maintained rooms with friendly and attentive staff. Location is super convenient for exploring Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and getting around by subway is a breeze. The only area that could use improvement is breakfast; the selection is a bit limited and could be more varied. However, the basics like coffee, pastries, and fruit are provided. Despite that small downside, it’s still a fantastic value for the price. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a reliable, no-frills stay in Brooklyn.

Franklin Guesthouse

Staying at Franklin Guesthouse was an absolute delight! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the option to check in early (for a small fee), which made our arrival so much smoother. The room was spotlessly clean, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet—perfect for a relaxing getaway. What really stood out was how convenient the location is: just steps away from a cozy corner market where we picked up snacks and essentials. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including public transit that made exploring New York City a breeze. Honestly, I’d have given every category a perfect 5-star rating if it weren’t for the app glitching and automatically unchecking my selections. Despite that minor frustration, this place exceeded my expectations—great value, warm atmosphere, and a homey feel. Definitely planning to return.

Pointe Plaza Hotel

Staying at Pointe Plaza Hotel was a fantastic experience. The location is quiet yet perfectly positioned for easy access to Manhattan—just a short subway ride away, making it ideal for exploring the city without the hassle of long commutes. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the essentials, though it didn’t include a fridge—still, that didn’t detract from the overall quality of the stay. What really stood out was the staff: friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. For travelers looking for a peaceful retreat with great convenience and excellent service, this hotel is an outstanding choice. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to New York.

The Bklyn House Hotel

Staying at The Bklyn House Hotel in Flushing was a great experience overall. The hotel itself feels fresh and modern, with clean, spacious rooms that make you feel right at home. While it doesn’t provide slippers or toiletries—standard for many US hotels—I wasn’t surprised since that’s just how things are here. No kettle either, which makes sense considering most Americans don’t drink hot water regularly. But the bright side? There’s a free coffee station in the lobby—perfect for an early morning pick-me-up. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a short walk from the subway and close to a supermarket, so grabbing essentials is super convenient. Now, about food—there’s a sushi spot nearby, but honestly, it’s overpriced and not very tasty. Definitely avoid it. On the other hand, the burger joints near the subway stop are fantastic. Sonic stood out as my favorite—had their triple beef burger twice, and it was deliciously satisfying. The staff were incredibly friendly too. When I first saw the long list of sauce options, I was overwhelmed and ended up ordering fries and burger separately. A kind employee pointed out that the medium combo was actually cheaper—a small win! I also tried Burger King in a video I filmed upon arrival—the taste was average, nothing special. One thing worth noting: when visiting the U.S., always mind your manners, especially if traveling with kids. Most people are polite and respectful, and they’ll respond positively to the same. I did run into two loud Latina women on the subway who weren’t ideal, but those were rare exceptions. Overall, New Yorkers are warm, helpful, and eager to engage with courteous travelers. Even when encountering someone who seems arrogant, stay calm and confident—there will always be a few unkind individuals, but they don’t define the whole experience. This place offers excellent value, great location, and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend it for first-time visitors to NYC.
