The Flag Zürich
Staying at The Flag Zürich was an absolute highlight of my trip to Zurich! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. Best of all, the hotel is located right next to a bus stop (line 31), which makes getting around the city effortless. Whether you're heading to Bahnhofstrasse, Lake Zurich, or the old town, everything is just a short ride away. This place offers incredible value and a fantastic experience—highly recommended for any traveler looking for comfort, convenience, and charm in Zurich!

Breakfast was reasonably priced, though the variety wasn't extensive. Still, it offered the basics: fresh bread, jams, coffee, and some cold cuts—perfect for a quick morning start. What really stood out was the location; it's just a short metro ride from the city center, making it super convenient for exploring Zurich. For budget-conscious travelers who value cleanliness, convenience, and a solid base to explore the city, this hotel delivers excellent value. I’d definitely stay here again.

I’ve seen this place recommended on the platform, and I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed at all. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Breakfast was a real highlight—plenty of options including granola, omelettes, and pancakes. The pancake with bacon and a fried egg in the photo? Absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The coffee was excellent too, with a wide range of hot and cold drinks to choose from. We loved sitting out on the outdoor patio, but the cozy indoor space was just as charming. Even though it’s a bit off the beaten path—located toward the western side of town—it’s well worth the short trip. A hidden gem with a warm, homely vibe that makes you feel right at home.
Budget Youth Hostel
The staff was extremely unfriendly and gave zero flexibility regarding early check-in. I arrived at 1 PM, but check-in wasn't until 4 PM. Instead of allowing me to wait in the common area or offering to store my bags, they just left my luggage sitting around the facility and told me to leave and come back later. This was one of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had. The place is cheap and clean, which is a plus, but the facilities are basic and nothing is done to encourage guest interaction or socializing. It felt very impersonal and unwelcoming—definitely not worth it for the price.

I cooked several dinners during my stay, which saved me a lot of money and gave me a real homey feel. The bathroom is large and modern, and there’s a washer and dryer on-site, which made laundry stress-free. My unit even had a private balcony where I enjoyed morning coffee while watching the city come alive. The location is unbeatable—just a 500-meter walk left from the building to the train station, making travel around Zurich effortless. With great amenities, top-tier convenience, and a cozy atmosphere, this place is perfect for both short stays and longer visits. Highly recommended!

I only stayed one night at Swiss Star Apartments Aemtlerstrasse, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no staff to assist with check-in, and the same lack of service carried through to checkout. We had to find our own room, and when we did, the door was actually left open—this raised serious concerns about security. The cleanliness was a major issue: the microwave and kitchen area were poorly maintained, and I found hair stuck in the shower drain. The only positive aspect was the low price, but given what’s offered, I can’t recommend this place at all. For the quality and condition, it’s simply not worth it.

It’s not right in the heart of downtown—about a 20-minute walk—but the area is quiet, safe, and easy to navigate. The unit is basic but spotlessly clean and comes with everything we needed for a comfortable trip. No noise or crowds, which made our stay peaceful and relaxing. We were really happy with our experience and would definitely consider returning.
