Staying at B2 Boutique Hotel + Spa was an absolute highlight of my trip to Zurich. The hotel is conveniently located just a short ride from downtown Zurich, making it easy to explore the city without spending too much time commuting. The room was spacious and comfortable, offering a great stay overall. My only minor disappointment was leaving behind a blue hoodie in the fitness center—unfortunately, it wasn’t found. That said, this small issue didn’t take away from the excellent experience. With its great location, clean rooms, and friendly staff, I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to travelers looking for a quiet yet central base in Zurich.

If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable stay with exceptional service, this is definitely the place to book.
Hotel Stoller
Staying at Hotel Stoller was an excellent experience. From Zurich Airport, taking bus routes 16 or 33 is convenient and actually saves about 6 minutes compared to going directly to Zurich HB. However, the buses don’t run as frequently as the nearby tram lines 2 and 3, which are always available with seats. The room faces the quiet courtyard—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. Daily cleaning is thorough, and I really appreciated the complimentary four bottles of drinks each day. The apple stand downstairs offers fresh, sweet-and-sour apples that are a delightful treat. The bed is slightly narrow, but that’s typical for 4-star hotels in Germany and Austria, so it’s not surprising. I checked out both M and Coop supermarkets—ended up choosing Coop because the one near the tram stop (5–6 stops from the hotel, right next to a McDonald’s) has the widest selection. Late October to mid-November, outdoor temperatures were around 10°C, but the room’s heating made it cozy and comfortable throughout. Overall, great value, exceptional comfort, and a fantastic location—definitely planning to return.

Both hot and cold water faucets worked well, though the air conditioning was quite modest, which I’ve noticed is common in European hotels due to high energy costs. It’s probably designed to save energy, so it’s not overly powerful, but it does its job. The location is a bit off the beaten path—when I first arrived, I wasn’t familiar with the area, and the map made it seem central, but it’s actually a bit removed from the city center. Still, public transport access is good, and getting around via the tram or subway is straightforward. Breakfast was a highlight—surprisingly good, especially having smoked salmon 🍣 on the menu. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth mentioning. For a European hotel, this kind of breakfast offering stands out, making the stay feel more worthwhile.

A solid choice for business travelers looking for comfort and value without the hassle.

The apartment itself is incredibly well-designed and offers excellent value for money—definitely one of the best deals I’ve found. The room is spacious and clean, though the bed is a bit soft and slightly shorter than expected; two women were comfortable, but it might feel tight for taller guests. What really stands out is the fully equipped kitchen with a built-in oven—perfect for preparing meals from groceries picked up at the nearby supermarket. I cooked several dinners during my stay, which saved me a lot of money and gave me a real homey feel. The bathroom is large and modern, and there’s a washer and dryer on-site, which made laundry stress-free. My unit even had a private balcony where I enjoyed morning coffee while watching the city come alive. The location is unbeatable—just a 500-meter walk left from the building to the train station, making travel around Zurich effortless. With great amenities, top-tier convenience, and a cozy atmosphere, this place is perfect for both short stays and longer visits. Highly recommended!
Budget Youth Hostel
The staff was extremely unfriendly and gave zero flexibility regarding early check-in. I arrived at 1 PM, but check-in wasn't until 4 PM. Instead of allowing me to wait in the common area or offering to store my bags, they just left my luggage sitting around the facility and told me to leave and come back later. This was one of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had. The place is cheap and clean, which is a plus, but the facilities are basic and nothing is done to encourage guest interaction or socializing. It felt very impersonal and unwelcoming—definitely not worth it for the price.

I only stayed one night at Swiss Star Apartments Aemtlerstrasse, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no staff to assist with check-in, and the same lack of service carried through to checkout. We had to find our own room, and when we did, the door was actually left open—this raised serious concerns about security. The cleanliness was a major issue: the microwave and kitchen area were poorly maintained, and I found hair stuck in the shower drain. The only positive aspect was the low price, but given what’s offered, I can’t recommend this place at all. For the quality and condition, it’s simply not worth it.
