Stayed at Lujiang Mega Hotel during New Year's in Xiamen and was completely blown away by the experience. The location is unbeatable—right next to Zhenzhu Bay Beach, perfect for families with kids who love digging in the sand and enjoying the sea breeze on a bike ride. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive—always smiling, ready to help, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and they even included a complimentary afternoon tea, which was such a nice surprise. The outdoor pool and dedicated family-friendly activity space made it ideal for both relaxation and fun. My kids had a blast, and I felt completely recharged. I started with a king-size room and later switched to a twin-bed room. Honestly, I found the king-size room had a more spacious and open layout—much more comfortable overall. The twin room was still quite large, but felt slightly cramped in comparison, especially the bathroom area. It also seemed less well-maintained—the tiles had water stains, and there was a faint odor coming from the drain. That said, cleanliness across the room was still good, and the beds were nicely soft with high-quality linens that made for a very restful night’s sleep. If the twin room’s maintenance could be improved—especially around the bathroom—the experience would be even better. Overall, the king-size room stood out as the clear winner in terms of comfort and space, making it a great choice for travelers who value a relaxed, airy feel.

Back then, the vast beach had only this garden villa, with its own private dock—so unique and iconic. Fast forward to today, we returned to relive those memories, and were amazed by how much the hotel has evolved. Now a three-story modern property with a swimming pool and full dining service, it’s no longer just for government officials’ retreats. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming—especially when we arrived with heavy luggage; the bellhop immediately stepped in to help carry our bags to the room. A special shout-out to the male restaurant manager, Xiao Lan, who greeted us with genuine enthusiasm. He personally handled all our meal arrangements over two days, and every dish was delicious and thoughtfully curated. The breakfast was outstanding—fresh seafood, steak, fruit, pastries, plus a wide variety of drinks and vegetables, truly on par with a five-star hotel. This anniversary trip exceeded all expectations. We’re already planning our next visit to Gulangyu—this is hands-down our top choice, not just for nostalgia but for the exceptional experience and value. Highly recommended!

The staff were consistently warm and welcoming—the housekeeper Xiao Luo went above and beyond, always smiling and ready to help. What really touched us was how thoughtful they were when our child turned five: they arranged a little birthday setup and even brought out a sweet cake. It made the whole stay feel extra special. The nearby Shangli Reservoir and Pan Gui Tower are must-see spots in Xiamen, and being able to reach them effortlessly on foot made the experience even more special. Breakfast was generous and delicious—great variety of options, both local and international flavors. The staff, especially Xiao Wang, went above and beyond with warm, attentive service. He helped with recommendations and even assisted with local travel tips. I genuinely felt welcomed. I’m already planning my next trip to Xiamen and will absolutely be booking here again. The balcony offered stunning sea views—perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset. It’s also very convenient for getting around; we took the metro to explore nearby spots without any hassle. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, so dining options were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were hoping to use the Zhuyanji photography pass, but unfortunately it was fully booked when we tried to reserve it (you need to book at least one day in advance). Still, despite that small disappointment, the quality of the stay made up for it. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking for a peaceful yet well-connected getaway.
