Staying at Jianguo Hotel Shanghai felt like stepping into a classic piece of old Shanghai charm—elegant, timeless, and effortlessly refined. I chose this hotel because it’s just a short walk from the theater where I was attending the play 'Once as It Was,' and every part of the experience was seamless. From check-in to check-out, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely attentive—especially the front desk agent, Gu Pan, whose friendly demeanor made a lasting impression. The room I booked was the smallest option, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a freestanding soaking tub—a delightful bonus I didn’t expect (though I didn’t get to use it!). The location is unbeatable: directly facing Xujiahui Library and the Catholic Church, offering a peaceful morning view. Check-out was quick and smooth, and there’s a dedicated counter for luggage storage, which is super convenient. Overall, the service, ambiance, and attention to detail made this stay exceptional. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Shanghai.
