Staying at Hôtel de Sèze & Spa Bordeaux Centre was an absolute delight! We booked a deluxe room with breakfast, and from the moment we arrived, the charm of this 17th- to 18th-century European building was undeniable. The top floor, once home to maids, gives a real sense of history and character—so unique and atmospheric. Located right in the heart of Bordeaux, everything is within walking distance: major attractions like Saint-André Cathedral, the Place de la Comédie, and the shopping streets are all just a 10- to 15-minute stroll away—perfect for exploring on foot. It's perfectly situated just a short walk from major attractions, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The area is bustling with restaurants, shops, and supermarkets—everything you need is within reach. After a long week of traveling across France, this place turned out to be the perfect retreat to unwind and recharge. Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, it’s just a short walk from a tram stop and packed with great dining options. Even though we didn’t get to enjoy breakfast or meet the hosts, every other aspect of the stay was top-notch—especially the bed, which was incredibly comfortable and made for a restful night’s sleep. The entrance is quite discreet, so keep an eye out for the sign on the wall to avoid missing it. Overall, being a bit removed from the bustling city center actually added to the charm—it felt like a quiet escape while still being well-connected. A truly pleasant and relaxing stay.

Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux's historic old town, this charming little pedestrian square offers a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city life. Though small in size, it’s brimming with character—wander its quiet streets, browse local shops, and enjoy a meal at one of the inviting restaurants. The area is always lively, especially in the evening when the atmosphere feels truly magical. Perfect for a relaxed stroll or a quiet moment away from the crowds. Staying at Hôtel de Normandie was a fantastic experience! The room is compact, but perfect for a solo traveler—well-organized and surprisingly comfortable. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit, making check-in and recommendations feel personal and warm. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: right outside the tram stop, with easy access to all parts of Bordeaux city center. We found it super convenient for exploring the historic district, local cafes, and attractions. For first-time visitors to Bordeaux, this hotel offers excellent value and a great base. I’d definitely recommend it!

The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the city center and right next to the cathedral. The apartment was charming, cozy, and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout. Everything was well-equipped, the bathroom was spotless and spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfortable and spacious—perfect for a good night’s sleep. However, the sofa beds were a major letdown: the mattresses had visible stains, the springs were broken, and sleeping on them felt like a nightmare. Given how important rest is when traveling, this was truly disappointing. That said, everything else about the stay was fantastic—great vibe, excellent amenities, and a wonderful base for exploring Bordeaux. I’d still recommend it overall, just with a heads-up about the sofa beds.

Staying at Grand Hotel Francais Bordeaux was such a delightful experience. The lobby has that classic European charm—elegant, timeless, and full of character. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they’re well-designed with thoughtful details and high-quality furnishings, making them cozy and comfortable despite the size. The elevator is compact, so guests with larger builds might need to be mindful. But honestly, the location more than makes up for it. Nestled in a pedestrian-only zone, you can walk to all the main sights in minutes—no need for taxis or cars. If you do need a ride, just a short stroll away from the drop-off point. Being surrounded by cafes, boutiques, and historic streets adds to the authentic Bordeaux vibe. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city like a local. Highly recommend this gem for travelers who value atmosphere, convenience, and charm.

Our stay was disappointing overall. The room was extremely small and cramped, making it difficult to move around comfortably. There was no fitted sheet—just a duvet—which meant we had to sleep without any covering if we got too warm, which wasn’t ideal. The shower tray was barely 70 cm square, which feels laughably small in today’s standards. Plus, the sliding shower door was stiff and hard to operate. To make matters worse, parking was nearly impossible in the area—we circled the neighborhood three times before finally finding a spot over 500 meters away from the hotel. Carrying luggage that far was exhausting. While the location is close to the city center, the lack of convenience and poor room quality made it hard to justify the price. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a comfortable stay.
