Hotel Capitolio
Stayed at Hotel Capitolio with my husband during our tourism trip to Medellín, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The hotel is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the metro station, making it easy to explore the city. Our room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed: reliable Wi-Fi, hot water in the bathroom (though the shower pressure wasn’t consistent), a functional mini-fridge, crisp linens, and plush pillows that made for a restful night’s sleep. The flat-screen TV came with cable channels, and there was ample storage space—perfect for organizing luggage. While the area outside felt a bit unsafe at night and walking around after dark wasn’t advisable, that’s something common in many big cities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist. We especially appreciated the complimentary red wine offered daily—delicious and a nice touch. The food quality was great too. Overall, we felt comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. This is definitely a place I’d recommend and return to.

Staying at Origen Local Suites in Laureles was an absolute highlight of my trip to Medellín. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond—friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and full of charm, with everything within walking distance. I loved having two breakfast options: one right in the lobby and another just a quick 20-step stroll from the main entrance—perfect for early risers. Walking to Unicentro Mall, local markets, bakeries, churches, and even the vibrant nightlife along Calle 70 was effortless. I’ve already planned my next visit just to stay here again. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a true local feel, this place is a must-book.

We arrived at the hotel after booking through a platform, only to be told there was no reservation on file—apparently they don’t have a partnership with the booking site. Fortunately, the hotel staff were very accommodating and helped us check in directly. They also assisted with starting the refund process. I’d recommend double-checking your reservation details before arriving, especially if you’re relying on third-party platforms.

Staying at B 48 Living by B Rent was an absolute delight! The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—so cheerful and helpful throughout our visit. The property is designed like a modern apartment, offering plenty of space and a really comfortable layout. Everything you need is included: fully equipped kitchenette, cozy bedding, clean bathrooms, and great lighting. It felt more like home than a hotel, which made the whole experience so relaxing. Plus, it's well-located with easy access to public transit if you want to explore Medellín. I’d definitely stay here again—the vibe, service, and value are all top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the city!
Hostal Pura Vida la 70
Staying at this hostel in Medellín was a disappointing experience overall. While the location is convenient and close to the city center, the room itself was far from satisfactory. The air had a musty smell, and the space felt dirty despite the clean appearance of the common areas. There was no air conditioning, which made it unbearable during the hot nights. The shower faucet was loose and required fixing just to turn on—very inconvenient. Noise was another major issue; music and loud conversations continued until 4 a.m., making it impossible to sleep. I stayed for two nights and paid $170, which felt completely unjustified given what was offered. The staff were polite and helpful at reception, but that didn’t make up for the poor quality of the room and lack of basic amenities like breakfast. I’ve stayed in many hostels across Colombia, big and small, and this one ranks among the worst. For the price and condition, I’d definitely not recommend it—especially if you’re looking for a peaceful place to rest.
