We stayed at Hotel Merlott 70 for two nights and three days, choosing it mainly because of its close proximity to the stadium for a concert. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive—always ready to help with tours, transportation, local guides, or any other needs. The hotel itself was spotless, well-organized, and especially charming during the holiday season with festive decorations that made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Breakfast was a highlight—plenty of options including fresh fruit, orange juice, hot drinks, and water, all served consistently with good quality. The only thing worth mentioning is the external noise; since the hotel is located in a lively neighborhood, some street music and nightlife sounds can be heard at night. That said, it’s manageable, and overall, the experience was excellent. Great value, superb service, and a perfect base for exploring Medellín.

What stood out most was how balanced the location felt: you’re close to all the action without feeling overwhelmed by noise or crowds. It’s an ideal spot for travelers who want authenticity, convenience, and peace—all in one place.

I stayed at Hotel California City in Medellín, and unfortunately the experience didn't meet expectations. While the facilities looked decent on paper, the actual service was average, and the room amenities were extremely lacking. Upon arrival, I noticed the bed only had a mattress sheet—no extra blanket or cover—and the towel was visibly dirty with hair strands. I requested an additional sheet, but it never arrived. To make matters worse, there was no shampoo provided. The room itself wasn’t well-maintained, which was disappointing. If you're looking for a hotel with a pool, this isn’t the place—go elsewhere. Overall, the value for money wasn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Absolutely unforgettable experience! We came back three times—proof of how much we loved it. Though we didn’t stay overnight, the entire vibe was exceptional. Juan was incredibly friendly and helpful, truly representing the hotel’s spirit with a smile. The real highlight? Botanic 70—the lounge and bar area for VPV Suites. It’s not just a place to unwind; it’s an experience in itself. The drinks were expertly crafted, the atmosphere relaxed yet stylish, and the staff went above and beyond. If this is what the team delivers at the bar, imagine what the rest of the property offers. A standout gem in Medellín, perfect for travelers who value quality service and unique ambiance. Definitely worth revisiting.

I’ve stayed at many hotels in Colombia, but this one stands out for its comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service. If I ever return to Medellín, this will be my first choice without hesitation. A truly memorable stay.

Staying at this hostel in Medellín was a disappointing experience overall. While the location is convenient and close to the city center, the room itself was far from satisfactory. The air had a musty smell, and the space felt dirty despite the clean appearance of the common areas. There was no air conditioning, which made it unbearable during the hot nights. The shower faucet was loose and required fixing just to turn on—very inconvenient. Noise was another major issue; music and loud conversations continued until 4 a.m., making it impossible to sleep. I stayed for two nights and paid $170, which felt completely unjustified given what was offered. The staff were polite and helpful at reception, but that didn’t make up for the poor quality of the room and lack of basic amenities like breakfast. I’ve stayed in many hostels across Colombia, big and small, and this one ranks among the worst. For the price and condition, I’d definitely not recommend it—especially if you’re looking for a peaceful place to rest.
