Our trip across China ended in Hainan, and we chose the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Sanya Bay as our final stop—what a perfect choice. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade from the Ramada to a family suite, and we’re especially grateful to our dedicated concierge, Joan Chen, whose warm care and thoughtful attention made our stay even more memorable. The hotel truly reflects the brand’s signature elegance. The room view is stunning—same breathtaking sea and pool vistas as the standard rooms—but our upgraded suite featured a spacious balcony with an unobstructed view of the pool below. The family room itself was impressively large, spotlessly clean with no overlooked corners. With two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer/dryer, it was incredibly convenient for a multi-generational family visit. Staff service stood out across the board—everyone, from housekeeping to gardeners, was courteous and professional. The buffet breakfast and dinner were both extensive and high-quality, offering a wide variety of dishes that would take days to fully explore. Public restrooms were immaculately maintained. One highlight: the lifeguard at the pool noticed our young kids and immediately offered free swim rings—such a sweet gesture. The outdoor buffet area was lively with live acoustic music, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. A few suggestions for improvement: afternoon tea desserts were identical to breakfast pastries—consider rotating the selection to avoid feeling like leftover items. Also, airport shuttle service had gaps (e.g., after 5 PM), likely due to driver rest periods—adding a second driver on rotation could ensure coverage throughout the day. Lastly, while the outdoor hot tub on the balcony was lovely, there was no privacy screening, so guests had to use it while wearing swimwear, which slightly reduced the experience. Despite these minor points, this hotel delivers a truly welcoming, relaxing stay. We felt at home every single day. If we ever return to Sanya, we’ll definitely choose Ramada Plaza again—thank you, Joan, for making us feel special.

After staying two nights in Haikou Bay, a friend recommended we switch to Dadonghai for New Year’s Eve. After doing a quick online search, I found that Pearl River Garden Hotel kept coming up as a top pick—so we decided to give it a try. Before check-in, the lovely concierge Jasmine reached out to us personally. At the time, only two rooms were available, so she arranged us on different floors. She escorted us straight to our room after check-in and even left fresh fruit and a mini bar—such thoughtful touches! The hotel is literally steps from the beach, making it incredibly convenient, though being in the city center means rooms aren’t huge. That said, the location more than makes up for it. On New Year’s Eve, the ground floor was packed with live music and dancing—super lively! But if you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest avoiding sea-view rooms since it can get noisy. Rooms facing the opposite side are much quieter. Jasmine stayed on top of things throughout our stay—she mentioned she’d contact the manager to speak with nearby beach vendors if the noise became an issue, which showed how genuinely attentive she was. Breakfast was outstanding, especially the Luoma Hainan rice noodles—everyone in our group agreed it was delicious. We made a beeline for that spot every morning. On arrival day, there was a free sugar cane candy event in the lobby, and Jasmine even sent us photos taken by the in-house photographer. One highlight we absolutely couldn’t miss was the hotel’s “Papai Box” photo experience. We booked in advance, and the photographer at the 9th-floor infinity pool was fantastic. He didn’t make us pose stiffly—he guided the kids naturally, capturing genuine moments and emotions. As someone who hates formal photos, this was a game-changer. My kids looked relaxed and happy, not forced at all. I highly recommend booking this service upon arrival. Once scheduled, the photographer contacts you directly with details and reminders. My upgraded high-floor ocean view room was beyond expectations—the moment I opened the window, endless blue sea stretched out before me. Sitting on the balcony with sea breeze in my hair and watching the sunset was pure bliss. Even better, they upgraded me upon booking and included breakfast—then went above and beyond when they found out my mom and aunt had just returned from a cruise to Xisha Islands. They surprised us with two extra breakfasts, which were delicious and thoughtful. The staff were incredible—from the guest relations manager Dora, who proactively checked in about my room type and arrival details, to the front desk team who made me feel genuinely valued. Their warmth and attention to detail made the whole experience feel personal and special. Every aspect of this resort, from the stunning views to the exceptional service, exceeded my expectations. I especially want to thank Front Desk Manager Xiao Wang for the excellent room assignment and warm hospitality—it felt like being welcomed into a home away from home. I stayed here as a transit stop, but was pleasantly surprised by how close it is to Yemeng Long Beach, perfect for catching the sunset at the ideal viewing spot. Plus, there’s live acoustic music on weekends—such a nice touch that adds charm to the evening. Overall, the value for money is outstanding. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Sanya.

A small tip is definitely deserved for such service. The barbecue and hot pot buffets were outstanding—plenty of fresh ingredients, and the lamb skewers were especially delicious. I ended up eating so much I could barely move! The breakfast was next level too—huge dining area, endless variety, and one of the most impressive hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had on this trip. The landscaping is beautiful, and the resort feels expansive and peaceful. Right outside the front door is the Menguang Longlou walkway, where you can stroll along the beachfront. While the waters of Sanya Bay aren’t as crystal clear as those in Yalong Bay, it’s still lovely for a relaxed walk, watching locals enjoy the seaside vibe. Overall, the service, food, and atmosphere made this stay truly memorable. A top-tier experience with excellent value.

This time around, as soon as we checked in, we headed straight up to the rooftop pool—just like old times. The view? Pure magic. It’s exactly what you imagine when you think of 'living by the sea.' Our entire stay was taken care of by Zoe, who was attentive, warm, and always ready to help.
