Breakfast was outstanding—plenty of variety and excellent quality. The only area for improvement would be the gym equipment; there aren’t many options, and some are worn out. However, this minor drawback doesn’t take away from the overall fantastic experience. Great value, highly recommend staying here again!

We booked a three-person apartment at Oscar Freire Elegance Suites in São Paulo for late December, staying with a friend and her child. While the location was excellent and the two-bedroom layout suited our needs, we were disappointed upon arrival to find the air conditioning completely non-functional and the room far from clean—there were personal belongings from other guests still inside the wardrobe, which was quite unsettling. We immediately requested a room change, and the hotel staff responded promptly, sending a housekeeper to clean the new unit while we were still there. Later that evening, I realized I’d left two pieces of clothing behind in the previous room. When I contacted guest services, I was told they couldn’t check right then due to it being late at night but would look into it the next day. Unfortunately, my clothes were never found. The management later offered R$150 in compensation, but this amount was clearly insufficient—those items were no longer available in stores, and replacing them cost much more. While the team’s quick response to our request was appreciated, the lack of proper handling of lost items remains concerning. I’d recommend travelers be extra careful with their belongings, especially if you can’t return to the room right away.

The door doesn’t close automatically, and the metal staircase makes carrying luggage up and down quite challenging. Still, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay with a vibrant atmosphere and solid value, this place is worth considering. It’s conveniently located near public transit, making it easy to explore São Paulo. For a no-frills, authentic backpacker experience, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for.
