We stayed at The Grand Hotel in Kaohsiung for New Year's Eve, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. My daughter compared it to hotels in Taipei, and she said this one truly stood out—especially the serene backyard with a peaceful lake path perfect for evening walks. We even got a front-row view of the dazzling fireworks display! The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh, diverse, and delicious. From the location to the ambiance, everything felt special. Papa Whale-Kaohsiung Formosa Boulevard

The hotel is just a 7-8 minute walk from the metro station, and the route runs along a wide, well-lit street—perfectly safe even when walking alone. Our room was on the 8th floor with a window offering a nice view of the cityscape. The space felt spacious and incredibly clean, and the bed was super comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The room was more spacious than expected—very comfortable and clean overall. The only minor hiccup was a few mosquitoes, but the staff responded instantly by bringing over mosquito repellent. Their service attitude was genuinely friendly and attentive. What really stood out was the price—extremely affordable compared to similar hotels in Taipei. Seasons Motel

Staying at Seasons Motel in Kaohsiung was a fantastic experience overall. The breakfast is delivered directly to your car garage at your chosen time—simple but satisfying, with a boiled egg, fresh fruit, and a foil-pack drink. You can also choose your main meal, which is basic but tasty, and the portion size is just right. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bathtub is huge—perfect for soaking. It takes about half an hour to fill up, but it's totally worth it for a relaxing soak. Location-wise, it’s super convenient—just an 8-minute walk to the light rail station, making it easy to explore the city. Great value for money and a top choice for future visits.

Kingship Hotel Kaohsiung Intercontinental

The room was surprisingly spacious with a ceiling height of over 6 meters, giving it an airy and luxurious feel. The twin room featured a beautifully detailed oil painting on the wall beside the nightstand—though some paint had slightly chipped over time, it only added character and depth to the vintage ambiance. The interior design truly embraced a classic old-money aesthetic, with subtle touches like a hanging closet rack secured by a metal ring on the beam, where the hanger itself could be detached using a nail-secured clip. It’s these small details that made the space feel so unique and authentic. A large bathtub completed the room—a true nod to Japanese-inspired relaxation. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better: just a short walk to the ferry terminal, surrounded by local eateries, boutiques, and convenience stores. Within about 20 minutes on foot, you’ll find a large supermarket for all your essentials. But the real highlight? The breakfast. A fantastic mix of Chinese and Western options—handmade buns with coconut filling, black sesame, red bean paste, warm soy milk, sweet potato porridge, plus fresh breads and pastries. I especially loved the seaweed soup with vegetarian meat and bamboo shoots—it was hands-down the best Chinese breakfast I’ve had in Taiwan. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everything about this stay felt thoughtfully curated. If you’re looking for a memorable, well-located, and uniquely styled hotel experience in Kaohsiung, this is a must-visit.

We didn’t need to worry about transportation at all, which made our family trip so much smoother. We booked a room with a swing, and the kids were thrilled every morning—no need to wake us up, they just started playing right in the room. It truly felt like a mini indoor playground! The hotel’s common areas are thoughtfully equipped with free water dispensers, small snacks, candies, coffee, tea, and even utensils and tableware—everything you’d want for a comfortable stay. The owner’s warm and friendly attitude made us feel at home; they were always happy to share local tips and recommendations. It’s rare to find a place that feels this welcoming and family-friendly. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a second home. Highly recommend for families!
