The apartment is fantastic! The neighborhood is vibrant and walkable—everything you need is within easy reach on foot. Public transit access is excellent, making it super convenient for exploring the city. The unit was clean and well-maintained, with a cozy, modern vibe. The only minor drawback is parking: there are just three spots available at the back, so it’s best to plan ahead. If you can’t secure a spot, it’s a 11-minute walk, which isn’t too bad. Overall, this is a great choice for travelers who value location, comfort, and convenience in Montreal.

We stayed with four people and were pleasantly surprised by the place. The unit was clean, well-maintained, and stylishly decorated with a modern touch—definitely exceeded our expectations. The only minor issue was a faint smell in the hallway and some sound transmission between units, so you can hear a bit of activity from neighboring apartments. However, this didn’t detract from the overall experience. The location is convenient, close to transit options, and the room layout worked perfectly for our group. We’d definitely stay here again.

The location is definitely a strong point—just steps from a metro station, making downtown easily accessible. There are plenty of great dining spots nearby, and the area feels lively with the Atwater Market and the canal right outside. I really enjoyed the neighborhood vibe. That said, we stayed over a weekend and found it a bit noisy, especially late at night. The room didn’t quite live up to the photos—some details looked worn, and the overall feel wasn’t very cozy or homey. It’s decent for the price, but not as welcoming as expected.

While I arrived in September 2025, the street outside was under major renovation, requiring some detours, but it didn’t affect my stay negatively. The room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The bed was super comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s not flashy, but everything worked perfectly for what we needed. If you’re looking for a peaceful, no-frills base in Montreal with good value, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

The staff at Auberge St. Jacques are genuinely welcoming and go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. What really stands out is how convenient the bus stop is—right outside the door, making it super easy to explore Montreal without needing a car. The hotel’s central location combined with its warm atmosphere makes it a perfect choice for travelers who value both comfort and accessibility. I’d definitely stay here again.
Gite King Hostels
I strongly advise against booking this place. The moment we entered our room, we noticed a large white stain on the duvet—definitely not acceptable. My partner had to argue with the owner for quite some time just to get a refund and leave early. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing. What’s worse is that the reviews online are completely misleading—so many positive comments that clearly seem fake, likely posted by the owner themselves. Don’t trust any of them. If you’re looking for a clean, reliable stay in Montreal, avoid this hostel at all costs.
Motel Saint-Jacques
Stayed here for one night and found it to be a solid no-frills option. The location is great—just a short walk from the metro station, making it easy to get around downtown Montreal. One thing to note is that the soundproofing isn’t ideal; you can hear footsteps or voices from adjacent rooms, especially if it's late at night. Still, for the price, it’s a fair deal. If you're looking for something simple, reliable, and well-located, this motel won’t disappoint.
