I even tried the local signature ginkgo latte, which was unexpectedly delicious and made for a perfect photo moment. When I returned to the hotel in the evening, strolling along the riverside, the ginkgo trees lining the streets were glowing under the streetlights—absolutely magical. While the room was booked for work purposes, it exceeded expectations: spotless, quiet, and beautifully situated right next to the canal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to recommend nearby night food stalls—some of the best street eats I’ve had in a while! The whole experience felt genuine, cozy, and full of charm. If you're visiting Suzhou, this is definitely a place worth staying at.
Staying at Suzhou City Holiday Hotel (Shiquan Street Wangshi Garden Branch) was an absolute delight. The room was smartly equipped with excellent climate control—especially the heating in winter, which kept everything cozy and comfortable. I appreciated the free coffee and tea available in the lobby for self-service; it’s a nice touch for early risers or late-night guests. What truly stood out was the location: right across from a well-known local eatery serving authentic Suzhou-style noodles and dim sum—perfect for breakfast or lunch. After dining, hopping on bus line 5 took me straight to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road for some delightful shopping and sightseeing. The nearby Shiquan Street and Phoenix Street are also just a short stroll away, making it easy to grab a quick bite or order snacks like bubble tea and pastries delivered right to my door. Plus, getting here via Line 5 Metro is super convenient—exit at Gate 1 and walk just a few steps to reach the hotel. Everything is so well-connected and thoughtfully placed. This place offers incredible value, comfort, and ease of access. Definitely my go-to choice for future trips to Suzhou.
