The expansive sight instantly lifted our spirits. We’d specifically booked W Guangzhou for this trip because it coincided with the Guangzhou Marathon, and honestly, it exceeded all expectations. The location is unbeatable—right next to Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Library, and Huacheng Square, with both the marathon start/finish line and packet pickup just a short walk away. The hotel’s design is bold and futuristic, with a vibrant, energetic atmosphere in the lobby that’s perfect for those who love modern urban style. Rooms are sleek, well-equipped, and feature top-quality bedding—super comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Dinner at the buffet was impressive: wide variety, fresh ingredients, and consistently high quality. But what truly stood out was the service—especially Clinton at reception. He greeted us with a warm smile, handled check-in smoothly, upgraded our room without hesitation, packed breakfast for us to take to the marathon, and even extended our checkout time when we returned late after the race. Breakfast was a bit crowded, but the menu was varied and the food tasted great—though I missed trying the dan dan noodles this time (will definitely go back for that!). When checking out, I requested a late checkout, and although they could only accommodate a short extension due to high occupancy, they made every effort to help. Overall, the experience was outstanding—from service to amenities, every detail felt special. This is luxury done right, and I’d happily return again.

Staff were courteous and warm throughout the morning, and I appreciated the complimentary member treats—like the pork siu mai pastry, which was deliciously flaky and flavorful. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated. This was a memorable stay, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. A solid five-star experience from start to finish.
