Within walking distance, you’ve got three great parks, Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal (the ideal spot for solo travelers heading to Ayutthaya), the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, DD Mall (a cool vintage shopping spot), and even a 7-Eleven right across the street. On day one, I grabbed a sandwich from the 7-Eleven early in the morning, walked to the train station, and caught a stunning sunrise along the way—though I later noticed my room’s view is partially blocked. But honestly? That didn’t ruin anything. The train ride to Ayutthaya was smooth, comfortable, and surprisingly cool—perfect for snacking on the go. I spent the afternoon wandering through ancient temples and backstreets, then returned just as the sun began to set. I opened the curtains and was greeted by an absolutely breathtaking sunset—so vivid, so peaceful. That evening, I followed local vibes and headed to DD Mall. While I’m not usually into vintage stores, the clothing shops on floors three and four had some unique finds, and the rooftop Italian restaurant served up a surprisingly delicious meal. Bonus: the metro entrance looks totally different at night—cooler, more atmospheric, and perfectly aligned with the path to DD Mall.
