This was my first visit to San Francisco, and Petite Auberge absolutely exceeded my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Nob Hill, it's just a short stroll from cable car stops—perfect for exploring Chinatown, North Beach, Pier 39, and Fisherman’s Wharf without needing a car. Our ground-floor suite had a private balcony and a cozy fireplace, adding a real charm to the stay. The bathroom looked recently renovated—clean, modern, and well-maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival. Breakfast each morning was a nice continental spread, and every evening, guests could enjoy free wine next door at the White Swan. The hotel’s decor is eclectic and quirky—full of character and personality. Staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. A small downside: both hotels require guests to use stairs to enter, which can be tricky with luggage. Valet parking runs $75 per night, but that’s typical for the area. With so many great restaurants nearby—especially the excellent pizza place right across the street—it made dining out effortless. Overall, this stay was unforgettable. I’d happily return in a heartbeat.

There’s a washer and dryer on one of the upper floors, perfect for longer stays. My room came equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, blender, and fridge—great for preparing meals or snacks. The housekeeping team was also very kind and professional. The entire place felt clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It truly felt like a five-star experience without the high price tag. I’ll definitely be returning next time I visit San Francisco—highly recommend!
