We arrived at 6:15 PM, right on time according to the check-in window, but there was no one at the front desk—no staff, no response on the phone. After waiting nearly 45 minutes, someone finally answered, and instead of apologizing, they actually laughed at us for being late. That’s not just unprofessional—it’s unacceptable. The hotel still requires in-person check-in in 2024, with no self-check-in options or keyless entry systems, which is surprising given how common those are now. We were trying to make it to the Arena di Verona on time, but this delay caused us to miss part of our plans. The atmosphere was far from peaceful or serene—more like indifferent and chaotic. There’s nothing zen about this place. Poor communication, lack of basic hospitality, and a complete absence of operational efficiency. If you’re looking for a quiet, thoughtful retreat, avoid this property. It’s not worth it.
