YHA Brisbane City

I found the location of YHA Brisbane City to be quite convenient, though being on a slight hill does make hauling luggage a bit challenging. The nearby Coles supermarket is super handy for picking up groceries and cooking in the shared kitchen on the fifth floor—perfect for saving money and enjoying home-cooked meals. The rooftop terrace is absolutely stunning, offering great views where you can relax and eat while soaking in the scenery. Cleanliness is good overall, but the shared bathrooms are a bit small. I stayed in a dorm with shared facilities, and since my roommate went to bed early and turned off the lights, I had to be careful not to disturb them when showering. The storage cabinets in the room are spacious enough for a 29-inch suitcase, and towels and hairdryers are available at the front desk—just drop used towels into the yellow bin after use. The touchless water dispenser is a real game-changer; no need to buy bottled water—just fill your bottle right there. Downloading the YHA app made entry seamless—just scan your phone at the door. On my second day, we experienced a fire alarm alert. The staff reacted swiftly, knocking on every door to ensure everyone evacuated safely, then guided us calmly to the front entrance. Thankfully, it was just a false alarm—the local fire department arrived quickly, as they’re actually located on the same street, and their uniforms looked impressively sharp. After checking everything, they left, and life returned to normal. This experience actually reassured me about the safety standards here. Overall, the vibe, convenience, and value-for-money make this hostel a top choice. I’d definitely come back.

Park Regis North Quay

I stayed at Park Regis North Quay in Brisbane for one night and had a really positive experience overall. While there was some noise from nearby construction work, it was minor and couldn’t be avoided. The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk to the city center and close to great restaurants, cafes, and shopping spots. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a lovely view of the river—especially beautiful during sunset. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Despite the slight noise, I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Brisbane.

Royal Albert Hotel

Staying at this historic hotel was a real highlight of my trip. I actually loved the slightly worn furniture in the room—it added character and charm, not unlike the subtle marks of time that give a place personality (don’t worry, it’s minimal and doesn’t affect comfort—just a hint of vintage authenticity). We did mention the minor wear to the front desk just to clarify, since we didn’t want them to think we caused any damage. The location is unbeatable—everything is within walking distance, which made exploring so convenient. My dad even made it a daily ritual to grab coffee from different cafés around the neighborhood, enjoying the local vibe each morning. There’s a great restaurant right downstairs, bustling with guests all day long—the coffee there was rich and delicious, and my younger sister took some pastries out for a picnic. Cleanliness is top-notch too—housekeeping comes in every day to tidy up and restock essentials, which shows real attention to detail. Honestly, the value for money is excellent. The only small downside? The carpet in the room could use a refresh, and the deposit process felt a bit unclear: they placed a pre-authorization hold, but the refund wasn’t processed upon checkout. So if you’re staying here, double-check your bank statement after leaving—just in case. Overall, though, I’d highly recommend this place for its unique atmosphere, great location, and warm hospitality.

Airport Motel Brisbane

Stayed in a 3-bedroom unit at this budget-friendly motel and overall, it was a great value for the price. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the location is super convenient—Woolworths is just a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Mobile reception was strong throughout our stay, which is always a plus. While we didn’t test the TV, Wi-Fi was mostly reliable, though some websites didn’t load properly, requiring a VPN to access them. One minor inconvenience: the bedside power outlet isn’t accessible due to the furniture placement, so the nightstand is pushed right against the wall—had to use an extension cord to charge my phone. Also, no bowls were provided, so we ended up eating out of cups and picked up disposable ones at Woolworths later. The shower floor has a slight slope, causing water to pool in one corner—but easily managed by nudging it down with your foot. No shampoo or toiletries included, which is expected at this price point. Despite these small quirks, nothing was deal-breaking. We’d definitely recommend this place for travelers looking for a no-frills, practical stay near the airport. Just bring your own extension cord, shower essentials, and a few bowls if you’re not planning to buy them on-site.

Spring Hill Gardens Apartments

We traveled to Brisbane with our family and couldn’t have been luckier finding Spring Hill Gardens Apartments in the heart of the city. The moment we walked in, we were impressed by the spacious layout—much more roomy than a standard hotel room. The fully equipped kitchen made cooking at home super convenient: stove, oven, dishwasher, plates, cutlery—all the essentials. Even better, there’s a washer and free laundry detergent provided! We booked a unit with a cozy little backyard, which became our peaceful retreat amid the busy CBD buzz. Late check-in was no issue—we arrived well past office hours, but the site manager warmly welcomed us and handled everything professionally and efficiently. Their hospitality truly stood out. For families or travelers who value comfort, space, and a home-like feel, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

Hotel Diana Woolloongabba

Staying at Hotel Diana Woolloongabba was a delightful experience. The room with three beds offered generous space and had a truly elegant design—perfect for families or groups. I especially appreciated the small kitchenette, which made self-catering super convenient, whether it was a quick breakfast or late-night snack. One little gem: the water dispenser right next to the elevator—no need to buy bottled water anymore. The room came stocked with plenty of single-serve coffee, hot chocolate, and tea packets—ideal for a morning pick-me-up. And if you want something freshly brewed, the lobby has a proper coffee machine available. Thoughtful touches like these make all the difference. Edward Lodge New Fam

My partner and I stayed at Edward Lodge for two nights during our road trip across Australia, and it was an absolute highlight. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the ferry terminal, making access to the city center effortless. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept like babies throughout the entire stay. The room was spotless and had that charming colonial vibe that made us feel like we were stepping into history. Breakfast was a simple cold buffet, but it included everything we needed to fuel up before heading out into the city. It wasn’t fancy, but it was satisfying and practical. We’d definitely book here again if we ever return to Brisbane. Steve and Christina were warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the whole experience. A truly memorable stay.
