Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid

Staying at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid was an absolute delight. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by great dining options and attractions. The room was luxurious, the staff were attentive and professional, and every detail felt thoughtfully designed. My only minor concern is that after the recent renovation, the door to the room doesn’t seem to have strong soundproofing—voices from the hallway, rolling luggage, or service carts are clearly audible, especially late at night. It’s a small downside, but honestly, it doesn’t take away from the overall exceptional experience. The hotel’s elegance, comfort, and service far outweigh this one issue. If you’re looking for a refined stay in Madrid, this is definitely a top-tier choice.

Thompson Madrid, Part of Hyatt

Staying at Thompson Madrid was an absolute highlight of my trip to Spain. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—by far the friendliest hotel team I encountered throughout my entire journey. They chatted with us like old friends, even handed out a welcome drink that turned out to be a cocktail—surprisingly delicious and a nice surprise! The room itself was spacious by European standards, especially the bathroom, which felt more like a luxury suite than a standard hotel room. The amenities were top-notch: high-quality toiletries with a subtle, refreshing scent, and the bar cabinet was stylish and well-designed. We also received a thoughtful welcome gift—a bottle of local olive oil, very authentic. One of the best things? The soundproofing—completely silent from the hallway, so no noise disturbances at all. The only downside is the location: while central and convenient, the area around the hotel can feel chaotic at night. There are lots of tourists mixed with some suspicious characters hanging around narrow alleys, and as someone of Asian descent, I felt noticeably more vulnerable. For safety, I’d strongly recommend taking taxis instead of walking, especially after dark—don’t risk it for a few euros saved. Overall, this hotel delivers exceptional value, stunning design, and outstanding service. A must-stay if you're visiting Madrid.

The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid

The location is unbeatable—everything within walking distance, from shopping districts to theaters and local eateries. The staff went above and beyond; the concierge was incredibly polite, helped with luggage, arranged rides, even gave tips on public transit. The hotel feels brand new, likely renovated from its former life as a Westin—every detail exudes luxury and modern elegance. The grand dome in the lobby is breathtaking, instantly setting the tone for a memorable stay. I made it a daily ritual to visit the fitness center—well-equipped and quiet, perfect for a morning workout. Breakfast was exceptional: a wide variety of options, from fresh pastries to local specialties, catering to every taste. In the evening, the bar was cozy and inviting, ideal for unwinding with a cocktail under soft lighting. This was truly an outstanding experience—effortless comfort, excellent service, and a touch of royal charm. I’d absolutely return without hesitation.

Staying at Palacio de Los Duques Gran Meliá in Madrid was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel itself is stunning—elegant, historic, and full of character. The staff went above and beyond with warm, attentive service that made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was exceptional—fresh, delicious, and varied, with local touches that really stood out. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a short walk to the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, and Retiro Park. Even better, there’s a car rental desk right in the underground garage at Plaza de España—grabbing our rental car took only about 500 meters of walking. Perfect for exploring beyond the city. We also enjoyed a relaxing swim at the rooftop pool, where we unexpectedly met a charming English-speaking guy who spoke Mandarin better than I do—such a fun moment! And the restaurant had a Chinese team member who was friendly, efficient, and made us feel at home. Honestly, if the price fits your budget, this place has absolutely nothing to complain about. The Madrid Edition

Staying at The Madrid Edition was an absolute delight—right in the heart of Madrid, just a short walk from everything. The room was luxurious with top-notch amenities, and I loved that they used Le Labo products throughout. It’s my second time staying here, and even though I didn’t get upgraded to a suite this time, the experience was still outstanding. Both the rooftop and ground-floor bars are incredibly popular—especially in the evening when the vibe is electric and Instagram-worthy spots are everywhere. But honestly, the highlight has to be the rooftop pool. The view over Madrid is breathtaking, especially during sunset. It’s one of those rare places where every detail feels intentional and perfect. Hotel Regina

This was hands down the most impressive hotel of my entire trip. I stayed for two nights, and on the second day—coincidentally during National Day—the hotel upgraded me to a larger room at no extra cost, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks, and the shower area was fully enclosed with glass—so much safer and more comfortable than the half-closed or bathtub-style setups I’ve seen elsewhere. Location-wise, it’s perfect: close to everything but surprisingly quiet at night, making it ideal for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding—so many options, including warm milk, fresh vegetables, and mushrooms! That last one really stood out—it’s not something you see every day. Also, they provided two 500ml bottles of water daily in the room, whereas other hotels usually only give one on the first day. Small details like this make a big difference. Overall, an excellent stay with fantastic value. I’d definitely come back.

Staying at Hotel Indigo Madrid - Gran Via was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of central Madrid, making it easy to explore the city on foot or via public transit. Breakfast was a highlight: diverse options, excellent quality, and priced very reasonably. The rooftop bar offers stunning views of the city skyline—perfect for an evening drink with a view. The gym is well-maintained and equipped with modern facilities, ideal for staying active during your trip. The staff went above and beyond with their warm, genuine hospitality—always smiling, helpful, and attentive. Our room was thoughtfully designed with everything we needed: a mini-fridge, a safe, a brand-new kettle, and most importantly, an Illy coffee machine that made our mornings feel extra special. Honestly, it felt like home away from home, especially after staying at a more basic hotel in Devon, UK. If you're planning a visit to Madrid, this hotel should be at the top of your list.
