Petit Palace President Castellana
Staying at Petit Palace President Castellana was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—right next to the British Palace, and just a short walk from the luxury shopping district. I loved how easy it was to explore the city on foot, with excellent access to public transit nearby. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable, with great air circulation and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. This place is a complete disappointment. The owner smokes inside the bar, making the air unpleasant and hard to breathe. The food is not only overpriced but also dry, greasy, poorly cooked, and seems like it's been sitting around for too long. The overall experience is terrible — from the service to the cleanliness, nothing stands out in a good way. Madrid has so many better options that truly capture the city's charm. I wouldn't waste even one minute here again. If you're looking for an authentic and enjoyable stay in Madrid, avoid this place at all costs.

Our 5-day stay for four people was absolutely perfect. The apartment had everything we needed to feel right at home—thoughtfully designed with both style and practicality in mind. The location is unbeatable: just steps away from Parque del Retiro, and within a 25-minute walk of all the main attractions in central Madrid. It’s incredibly convenient for exploring the city on foot. The host was attentive and responsive throughout our visit, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for more. Definitely planning to come back again.
Montaber Apartments - la Paz Market
This was by far the worst accommodation I've ever stayed at. The place looked nothing like the photos online. The building was under constant construction, and the interior felt like something out of a horror movie. The apartment was filthy—stained sofas, a burned table, and the air conditioner dripping dirty water. The rooms were tiny, and the beds were so small they looked like children's toys. We ended up canceling our stay, but we weren’t even sure if we’d get a refund. Total disappointment—definitely not recommended.

Beds were neatly made, the bathroom was spotless, and only minor attention was needed on floor cleaning—nothing major. One thing to keep in mind: they’re strict about check-out. You must confirm departure via the app before 12 PM; otherwise, an extra €15 fee will be triggered automatically. I accidentally missed the deadline but quickly messaged the support team through chat, explained the situation, and provided proof from the building’s security cameras. They honored my request and waived the fee—so if you do miss it, act fast! Communication is entirely through the chat system, which is professional and responsive. Always keep your phone charged and don’t delete the initial email with access instructions—it’s essential for entry. Overall, this place is perfect for quick city visits and delivers exactly what I look for in a no-frills, reliable stay.

The apartment itself is cute and well-designed, but there are no housekeeping services—no cleaning, no brooms, not even clear instructions on where to put the trash. It feels like it used to be a hotel that was converted into vacation rentals. Self check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I felt safe with electronic locks on both the lobby and the unit doors, and there’s an elevator, which is a plus. Unfortunately, despite what the platform claimed, there’s no luggage storage available. The kitchen came equipped with appliances and cutlery, but oddly, no pots or pans—something you’d expect in a basic kitchen. The bathroom had shampoo and body wash, but no conditioner, and the shower gel was fixed directly to the wall—definitely feels like it was designed with men in mind. The lighting is a bit too cool for my taste, which I didn’t love. Overall, it’s not bad at all—it’s charming, quirky, and has a unique personality. I wouldn’t necessarily stay here again, but it’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for something different and don’t mind doing your own cleanup.
