I stayed on the 4th floor, which meant no elevator, but honestly, it wasn’t an issue since the stairs are manageable and the building has a cozy, apartment-like vibe. The shared bathroom was just steps away from the room and never felt inconvenient—plus, the room stayed dry and comfortable, which I really appreciated. It felt like living in a private little home rather than a hotel. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. A truly memorable experience with excellent value. Princess Hostel Leidse Square Amsterdam
The location is fantastic—just a short walk from Leidse Square and super convenient for exploring Amsterdam. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which was a bright spot. However, the room condition left me disappointed. I found three bedbugs in the bedding, and the linens felt worn and unclean—similar to some of the worst experiences I’ve had in Southeast Asia. Long-term guests seem to treat the space casually, and the cleaning staff appear to do a very minimal job, just going through the motions. It’s clear the property needs better management and more consistent upkeep. While the location is a big plus, the cleanliness and maintenance issues really hurt the overall experience. Would be great to see improvements before considering a return.
