Hotel Mexicali
The restaurant was definitely the highlight of my stay—excellent service and delicious food. For just 300 pesos, I enjoyed a full meal that was both satisfying and flavorful. However, the breakfast buffet was a letdown compared to the restaurant. When I arrived at 10 AM, everything had already been cleared away, even though reception told me it ran until noon. On the second day, there was no staff available to refill the buffet—only one cook handling everything, trying to serve while also cooking. It was chaotic and frustrating. The room itself was clean, cozy, and comfortable—nothing fancy, but perfectly functional. Cable TV, soft armchairs, good beds, and strong hot water flow made it a pleasant place to rest. The neighborhood isn’t touristy, but there are local street food stalls just one block away, and Metro Chabacano (Lines 2, 8, and 9) is only two blocks off, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, despite the communication issues between staff, the experience was solid. It’s affordable, convenient, and well worth a repeat visit.

Staying at this hotel was a delightful surprise. It has that classic charm of an older establishment with exceptional service—especially the parking attendant, who was incredibly polite and helpful, even assisting us with a minor car scratch. The room was spacious and felt just like the romantic setting from Roman Holiday—opening the balcony doors revealed a wrought-iron railing overlooking the street, giving it a nostalgic, cinematic vibe. Breakfast was solid, though the dining area in the lobby did feel a bit chilly. What really stood out was the location: steps away from Zócalo and many cultural highlights. Walking or hopping on public transit is super convenient, making it easy to explore downtown Mexico City. With its great value, warm hospitality, and prime spot, I’d definitely return.

I stayed one night at this hotel and noticed a few areas that could use improvement, especially regarding cleanliness. The beds were not comfortable at all—quite firm and not very restful. While the location is convenient for getting around Mexico City, the overall room hygiene left something to be desired. It’s definitely not a place I’d recommend without some upgrades, particularly in bedding quality and daily cleaning standards. A bit more attention to detail would go a long way in enhancing the guest experience.

This place completely exceeded my expectations! Econo Express Hotel is an independently owned local property, not affiliated with any major chain—including the U.S.-based Econo Lodge—so it’s truly unique. The building is brand new, modern in design, and everything inside feels fresh and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious for the price, making them feel airy and comfortable. I was really impressed by the soundproofing—no noise from hallways or street traffic, which made for a peaceful night’s sleep. Front desk staff speak English clearly, and they’re friendly and helpful. Right across the street is a Walmart, and just outside, there’s a row of local food carts that locals swear by—their tacos and tamales are delicious, authentic, and super popular. Definitely worth stopping by if you're hungry. The metro station is literally on the other side of the road, so getting around the city is super easy. Breakfast is a simple but satisfying local-style buffet—just enough to start your day right. Overall, the value here is outstanding. If you're visiting Mexico City and want a clean, convenient, and genuinely local experience without breaking the bank, this hotel is a must-try.

The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped, offering great comfort after a long day of sightseeing. But what truly stood out was the food—excellent quality, fresh ingredients, and delicious flavors. Breakfast was especially impressive with a wide variety of options, both local and international. It’s rare to find such a great balance of comfort, service, and value in a city as busy as Mexico City. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

The room was spotlessly clean, well-organized, and very comfortable, with a cozy bed that made for a restful night's sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Everything about this hotel felt thoughtfully designed—from the ambiance to the attention to detail. It’s a fantastic value for the quality and service offered. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City.

Staying at Casa de la Luna in downtown Mexico City was a great choice for exploring the heart of the city. The location is fantastic—within walking distance to major attractions like the Zócalo, wax museum, and plenty of local shops and boutiques. It’s a perfect base for immersing yourself in the culture and vibe of the historic district. The hotel itself is housed in an old building with a Porfiriato-era architectural style, giving it a unique charm and a sense of history that’s hard to find elsewhere. While the rooms are simple and not overly modern, the atmosphere and authenticity more than make up for it. The staff were friendly, the area felt safe, and the overall value was excellent. If you're looking for a genuine, well-located stay in central Mexico City, this place is definitely worth considering.

There’s also a young server I didn’t catch the name of, and a lovely lady at the front desk—both consistently checking in on our table to ensure everything is perfect. Overall, the service is outstanding. The front desk team is warm and friendly, and they handle any issue with calm efficiency. Even though it sometimes feels like your greeting isn’t heard right away, the response is always polite, respectful, and genuinely kind. And let’s talk about the housekeeping—especially Mary, who’s not only incredibly kind but also meticulous and thorough in her cleaning. Her attention to detail makes every stay feel fresh and spotless. This hotel truly delivers on comfort, hospitality, and value.

Great stay overall! The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It's conveniently located with easy access to public transit, making it simple to explore downtown Mexico City. There are plenty of dining options nearby, so you won't be short on choices. One thing to keep in mind is that check-in is only available within a two-hour window—so plan your arrival accordingly. Despite that small detail, the experience was excellent, and I’d definitely book again.

I always stay here whenever I visit Mexico City, and it never disappoints. The breakfast buffet is outstanding—fresh, diverse, and full of local flavors that really make the morning special. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, making the entire experience feel personal and welcoming. The free shuttle to the airport is a game-changer—it saves so much time and stress, especially when traveling with luggage. The restaurant has been recently renovated, and the new design gives it a modern, cozy vibe with great lighting and comfortable seating. It’s now an even more enjoyable spot for meals. Plus, the pricing is very fair for the quality and location. For a hotel this convenient, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, the value is unbeatable. I’ll definitely be back.
